    Purely for Accuracy reasons

Let us assume that the ATK from the Torque is not needed and instead ACC is.

Using Peacock Charm as the prime example.

    Peacock Charm: ACC +10
    Sea Torque: 7 Skill

Now from what I have read; Skill beyond 200 is calculated as 0.9 instead of 1 meaning the torque would add 6.3 (Rounded to 6) Accuracy.

My assumption is that if I need more Accuracy that PCC would > The sea torque for the weapon. However I am not fully sure if I understand the correlation between skill and accuracy and if the torque would still be better than the PCC.

Thoughts? Thanks (Apologies for silly question ^^; )

yes, your right. For acc only on TPing pcc acc is >>>> sea torques.

However torques also give att but we'll not discuss abt that since you only wanna know accurancy thingy. If your dual wield and using sushi, sea torque is generally better since you wont miss hell lot of diff with the 4 acc difference and able to gain att + the torque additional stats. for 2H, its pretty obvious 4 acc isnt an issue and you should use a sea torque.

to spice things up, you can make use of that additional 4 acc for dual wield when facing THF mobs. 2H can totally forget about pcc really, if you have a sea torque.

PS. im assuming your talking about TPing, because for WS, its clearly gorget > all except thf's case

It just isn't true that 4 acc isn't an issue for 2H weapons. You need 407 acc to cap on L82 Colibri. I have pretty good WAR gear:

    Perdu Pole Bomblet
    Turban PCC Brutal Minuet
    EBody Dusk Ecph Rajas
    Ame+1 Swift Byakko Aurum

Which if I had full Gaxe merits (I still have most of my axe/sword merits) would put me at exactly 407; I'm not wasting any of the acc while Aggressor is down. And that's just Colibri; to cap acc on Mamool BLU you need 430, for THF you need 506.

In general, Faith Love Justice torques beat PCC because they give more than just att in exchange for the loss of acc, but PCC beats other torques. But if you do have acc to spare, 3-4 acc for 7 att is a better trade than you can get in other slots.

Antithesis: You have the correlation right, a torque gives either 6 or 7 acc depending on your base skill. For an A+ weapon, if you have either 3 or 8 merits it gives 7 acc; otherwise it gives 6.

    Non-Merited:
    No Torque: 276 skill = 200 + (76 x .9) = 268.4 truncated to 268
    Torque: 283 skill = 200 + (83 x .9) = 274.7 truncated to 274

    Merited:
    No Torque: 292 skill = 200 + (92 x .9) = 282.8 truncated to 282
    Torque: 299 skill = 200 + (99 x .9) = 289.1 truncated to 289

The decimals are just completely dropped when doing the subtraction? hmm.
I found another way to come to that conclusion of 7 acc, but if decimals are dropped, then it doesn't work.
    92skill*.9 = 82.8 acc
    7skill* .9 = 6.3 acc
    82.8
    + 6.3
    ______

and that's where I'm getting the 7 from the 8 and 3 making a complete number that is added to the total.

    maybe i overseen things

    i got an apoc hence i neglected the 4 acc ; ;

    sorry >_<

however accurancy wise ONLY, PCC > sea torques since 10 is obviously bigger than 6-7

    well, 292 base skill + faith torque= 289 accuracy + 7 attack
    and, 292 base skill + 10 accuracy=292 accuracy

So torque is better for tp . I mean 7 attack > 3 accuracy. If not you'd be using noritsune kote instead of O-kote. Also the torque still gives a nice bonus under capped accuracy which is what happens 80% of the time. Unless MMJSP-north is the only endgame you do with MMJ lurker being the final boss ?

Personally if I were a mnk, I would be using N Kotes over O Kotes for TP, especially at MJSP and especially if eating meat. Attack is generally only better than accuracy for a TP build if you can get a lil over double the accuracy. If it's ever close, I go with the accuracy personally.

I've been thinking about that a few times, but I really have a hard time giving up 22 attack (B kote > O kote) for 10 accuracy on the hands slot. Keep in mind that in a merit PT setting, TP phase is where MNK deals the most of his damage, so that's where you usually want to enhance your damage output the most.

MNK main accuracy slots are body and rings. You'll most likely have better results by stacking all the accuracy available on these slots (Shura Togi and Sniper Rings, HQs = even better if you can), use Faith Torque and keep O/B Kote instead of using N Kote.

If you were to have both, and you weren't sittin near acc cap, you'd get the best total damage from nkote w/o focus on, okote w/ focus on, but if you could only choose one to fulltime, you'd be better off with the attack gloves, unless your acc was at a point so low that you'd have been better off eating sushi anyways.

I would use N.Kote any time your hit rate is under 90%. 10 acc and 22 attack will have about the same effect on your TP-phase damage, but the acc also increases your TP rate and thus your WS damage over time. And that's with 90% acc and ~400 base attack; if your base acc or att are lower or higher, adding more helps more or less, respectively.

It's sad Faith Torque doesn't give you another point of weapon damage if you're fully merited...

But yes, if you have plenty of acc, PCC > Torque and then NKote > B/OKote are good swaps.

I don't understand this, I thought breeze gorget was better for DE/SB, how is PCC better? Or are you refering to love torque as being better for thf ws?

Yea, that just about goes with my theory. Usu hands/Nkote with focus down, Bkote with focus up. Focus is +30 acc, so if you're not at 90%+ even with it up, you probably shouldn't be eating meat on that mob.

    Love Torque.

Debatably only during SA-based WS too over a Breeze Gorget on DE at least.

So In other words, you'd use N kote > O kote, Cuculain's mantle (7 acc) over forager's mantle, sniper over raja, hollow earring over merman's earring etc ?

Me and a friend have equivalent gear/merit beside

    me : faith torque+ nq sniperx2 + merman's earring
    him : PCC+ torreadorx2 + hollow

We did a meripo and he indeed had better accuracy than me (him being mithra helped, i am elvaan) but I was doing better overall damage. The difference was mainly on melee hits. He usually goes monk in salvage and when he cotanks with another mnk with faith torque he usually does slightly less (talking about boss). I don't think accuracy is that much more important than attack.

Rajas is different because you're getting offensive benefits from it and the storetp often means you make the same TP over time too if not more.

And yeah, attack only consolidates existing hits whereas accuracy allows more hits for more WSs for more overall damage, assuming that attack isn't significant in making you do over 0 damage, so I'd say accuracy is definitely better in a TP build in most cases.

Well, it would all be situational on my current acc% (Acc has diminishing returns), mob defense, ect. Would mainly be situational with usu gote/Bkote, but with Hollow vs Merman's, I'd do that trade pretty much every time, provided my acc wasnt' capped, but I have Ethereal, so I can't do that.
