I'm just looking for some advice on how to handle animated shield. Goin with a semi-large number of people (45+). If anyone has tips of any kind, advice w/e I'd love it.

It goes down really fast and you need to take it down very quickly. 45+ people should be just fine as long as those melee parties have a BRD. Magic doesn't work too great iirc so just stick with the basics. Zerg it hard and it'll probably die in about 20s.
Anything specific we should do? Like WS stun when it tries to warp? I also hear that melees should try their best to attack it from behind as it has much lower defense.
And how bout the satellite shields?
Always have the puller train the satellites away. Just have a THF aggro it with Flee, Perfect Dodge, and run the hell away while the tank pulls the shield. And yes, have melee stand behind it.
Don't even need a super ally, we killed it fine with our 24 people we had (total, so mix melee/mage), no kraken, many ninjas (so not a huge dmg output) and bard songs. Shield is the easiest of them all.
Takes double damage from behind.
45? You should smash the crap out of it. Our LS just did this yesterday with 29 people and 0 kclubs, and we WTFpwned it. One of our WARs literally did not even have time to WS it before it succumbed to the onslaught. I don't think we even attacked it from behind, either. It never even tried to warp. We sac pulled it to deal with the satellite shields, used sleep potions for TP, and 3 Soul Voiced BRDs and zerged it. Job mix was pretty heavy melee DD though as we had most of our mages and all but one of our tanks leave Dynamis to go change jobs right before the fight though.
Ya no offense but if you can't kill it with 45 I think you should be going back to city dynamis to practice more on those bosses. You could probably beat it without 2hrs if were feeling lucky.
Thanks for the tips all. And to Orson, I've never tried it so didn't know what to expect lol.
I've killed it with my ls with as little as 17. If you have a large group, you'll be fine for sure. Attack from behind and don't use blms as they will do no damage. Souleater/BW is probably the best form of damage if the drk has a multi hit weapon and 2x SV Marches/ Haste. Best of luck.
I wasn't saying it as an insult or anything of the sort. I have no idea about your LS though, whether you just put it together or whether you've been doing things for a long time. Even if a handle of players have experience with doing big zergs like DL. Organizing a new group to work as a synchronized unit can be tough. A lot of people view zergs as the easy way of doing things but in reality it's often just faster or the only plausible way of killing something (AKA Dynamis Lord.)
Thanks for the advice everyone! Just got my fragment and will have my aegis tonight :D!
Go ahead, tell em what level your PLD is. I dare you. :D
26 now!
