Pets or "easy" solo 70+?

I have been leveling RNG and it is about 9k from level 70. I have done it all "soloing" gob pets supporting myself with a dual boxed 75WHM using G-key set cures.

I heard a lot of horror stories about Newton Movolpolos so I attempted to switch to pure campaign at 68 but I hated it, the exp was slow and grueling. So from 68-70 I went to Newton Movolpolos and have been tearing it up exp/seal wise. I imagine the exp dies off at 70, although I may be able to stretch it to 71 with a weeks worth of exp band, but if there's another option I'm willing to give it a try.

I talked with another soloer who said blms 68+ can solo off mamool raptors now, and also some tigers in the past. These may be a bit of a chore for me considering they have double attacks and claw cyclone sucks, but I figure if I whm/nin the PLer it should be alright since he said the mobs only have about 1200 hps.

Does anyone else know of, or have experience with solo/pet camps after 70? I thoroughly enjoy being able to log on for a few hours, kill at my leisure, then log back off.

Also does anyone know which tigers in the past he was referring to? Is the 1200 HPs accurate?

Qiqirn's RNGs in the ruins. Always stay at range regardless of hp%. That'll be your best bet post-70.

I tried doing some tiger pet (can't remember where in the past, but most definitely the past) and it had normal mob HP (like raptors). I was a BLM59 looking for a good camp, casted my nuke, saw it's HP only go down a sliver, proceeded to die, then scrolled up my log to see I nuked for at least 1k. I'm going to assume that the rest of the BST pets in the past are the same way.

Gigas's Tigers. 1200 sounds a little low considering that Goblin's Beetles are level 61-63 pets and have close to 1100 (Gigas's Tigers should be ~76), but I've never fought one, so I dunno.

Mamool pets (raptors and wyverns) would potentially be viable, but you have the likelyhood of a merit party moving in and messing that up for you.
I've seen a BLM soloing on the Pikeman's wyverns on Nyzul Mamools, then complain when (shock) an actual merit party arrived.

Perhaps if you were on at very odd hours when few merit parties were active.

I would assume that the tigers referred to are the Gigas's Tigers from Vunkerl Inlet.

Yeah, I did 73-75 BLM on Mamool Ja's Wyvern at Nyzul zone on off hours.

I played around with Wyvern and Raptor pets since the "pet HP adjustment" a few months back. Results here.

I haven't even gone looking for the Gigas pets, so I couldn't say anything about them.

The Raptors definitely have ~1200 HP.

You can always kill the single goblin's bat in pso xja (60 cap tower) with 60 cap gear. It should be better than Campaign, plus you can chain and get signet bonus.

The gigas' tiger in vunkerl inlet got fixed, really great exp but i can't remember the level range. something ridiculous like 66-71 for decent exp. can probably grind out 72 as well.

The globlin's pet in sauramugue (S) weren't fixed to my dissapointment.

Haven't done pets lately, but did duo/trio in Newton up 'til about 68. Most recently, duo'ed 70/71 WHM and WAR on Om'Hpemde, exp really isn't quite up to par with pets but I think we did a solid 6k/hr or so without exp band. May not work out quite as well for RNG as your options for gearing defensively are limited compared to WAR. Obviously not the greatest but it's worth trying if you've got nothing else going on and don't feel like seeking/building a normal party, and in my experience much better than campaign.

Thanks for all of the replies and information. I was out of town most of the weekend so I was unable to reply earlier. I'm currently in Vunkerl Inlet (S) at I-9 killing Giga's Tigers for very decent exp. The last couple kills were EXP Chain 3, 312 experience points and Chain 4: 280 exp without exp band. I doubt this camp would work for magic casters since its surrounded by magic agro bombs unless you pulled with RA to the ramp, used bind, and then nuked, but it's working perfectly for me.

The tigers do in fact have approximately 1200 HPs according to my chat log.

What are the other <pos>'s for camps here?

I will most likely stretch this to 72 and then try out mamool raptors when the camp is not taken by a pt. Thanks again for all the replies.


edit: without a cure IV and cure V macro'd on a G-key to a dual boxed PLer this would be near impossible unless I waited for barrage to be up every 5 mins.

As a BLM I went to Vunkerl Inlet (S). I went to (E-12), right past the bat in the tunnel on the hill. If that was taken, (D-12) also has one. It's safe to rest halfway up that hill. In a duo, we were getting capped EXP from every tiger at 65. At 66 only the lowest lvl didn't give capped exp.

The tiger there have roughly 1,400 HP there if I remember correctly.

Do these re-spawn like other pets? Yesterday, I went and tried this and the first re-spawn was quick. After that though, I waited a few minutes and no respawn.

I xp'd off them at 56-58 and they were still IT, that was last year though..haven't been back there since. Not sure if they tweaked it.

That's because you are killing them and they respawn and call new wyvern's.
