FF connection issues

Was playing last night, no problem. Turn on my PC this morning and I get to the "Notifying Lobby of Current Selections" after character select and it times out, so I close FF and re-open it and now it's hard as hell to get past this screen:

If I do manage to get into FF, I get R0'd pretty much instantly, and then I get "Failed to connect to Lobby Server" or another network failed message.

No-one has changed any settings on the network overnight, so I really don't know what's up. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Well it did snow overnight, and you know, a few leaves or snow in the road normally cripples the country.

However it seems Allakhazam.com: Final Fantasy XI: Final Fantasy XI General Discussion Forum are getting the problem too ... (Alla thread, people in the US)

Its a strike agaisnst all PS2 users to make them stop playing on PS2 so the game can make a few held back advances!

I don't know too much about this stuff, and I acknowledge that a lot of people out of the states are having this problem too, but could this be a reason?

seems to only be Comcast and Tiscali users getting this problem, I've been managing to log in every now and again for an hour then just getting d/ced again and it's not only PS2 users =P

Same issues as reported above and I'm a Comcast subscriber as well. Now it's saying I have no Content ID for one of my accounts. When I go to the content ID screen to reactivate it says no content ID to reactivate.

Comcast, US, east coast, same issues. Probably is that stupid throttling thing too, Comcast has fucked up every QoS change they've made in the last year.
