    Dynamis Tavnazia Assistance

Working on setting up a few runs since we finished clears off couple weeks ago. Initial plan is to hit up the Demons on 3rd floor north. So run should look like this?

    Enter
    Pull and kill bugard
    Kill antlion
    Kill worm
    Kill 2nd floor to ???
Move everyone except for ??? person to inner ring and pop ???
Inner ring drops glass gets one from doorman and reenters and rejoins ally
Head to 3rd floor and clear north East wing til you get to ???
Remove to inner ring again and repeat popping process
    Farm the repops
    Exit

That is my initial plan at least. Any thoughts / feedback on that would be appreciated.

A few questions I have though are:

    1. What should alliance compostion look like been thinking something like
    1. PLD/PLD/RDM/WHM/BLM/BLM
    2. DD/DD/DD/BRD/RDM/WHM
    3. DD/DD/DD/COR/RDM/WHm

with the bard and corsair rotating parties as neccesary.

Will this work or should I increase the number of brd/blm/rdm, or possibly go single pld tank and rely more on war tank?

    2. Are the eyes similar in HP / DEF to the ones in the Glacier or more difficult? Likewise for hydras (I am aware they are light sleepable here as opposed to bcd)

    3. Demons equivalent to Xarcabard cousins or more difficult?

    4. For those of you that do Tav often, would you say excluding coin drops that it is better to run tav or xarca/bcd?

Know alot of questions but every thread that I pulled up in search pretty much treats all of this information as a given, and I would greatly prefer to be overly prepared then have something jump out and waste a run.

    Thanks in advance,

    1. If all jobs are available:
PLD RDM WHM BLM BLM BLM
DD DD DD BRD COR RDM
DD DD DD BRD COR RDM

    2. Both seem a bit more difficult, and hydras are dark sleepable in tavnazia(though you need a decent bit of enfeeb skill to stick reliably, blms will resist frequently).

    3. Slightly more difficult.

    4. don't know, but tav has hydra haubert *_*

    Hmmm.

Normally use RDM/BLM as sleepers since the extra 50+ enfeebling magic has tendency to cut down on resist rates a bit. Given that can you think of any reason to bring blms along period, I know eyes don't like nukes much but just thinking about overall efficency?

We are going with slightly different setups all the time:

2x Tanks, RDM, WHM, THF, BLU
4x DD, RDM (or WHM), BRD
4x BLM RDM and then BRD or COR.

Setup depends on who is online and who not.
Sometimes we have only 1 WHM, sometimes 3 WHMS.
(2 Tanks, RDM, WHM, WHM, THF)

DDs are usually one WAR/NIN (main assist) and a DRK/NIN, the rest should be just strong.
    DRK/NIN for the smart Stun.

BLU for Light Sleeps, Head Butts, Def Down.
THF for TH of course and Feint on some fuckers.

Prefering BRD in BLM Party, due to Lullaby and being able to sing Songs often
(yes it is not easy to Ballad me when I run around like a chicken)

eyes similar in HP / DEF to the ones in the Glacier or more difficult? Likewise for hydras (I am aware they are light sleepable here as opposed to bcd)
I would say 2x as much HP then Xarcabard ones.
So you need your 6 nukes usually to take them out.

I´d say your setup could work with the mentioned adjustments below.
Personally I prefer 3 or 4 BLMs though.

    4. For those of you that do Tav often, would you say excluding coin drops that it is better to run tav or xarca/bcd?
Prefering Tavnazia atm. We get average up to 10 AF2 and 1 Hydra piece.
Droprate is really fucking awesome in Tavnazian and it is only 2 hours long.

Currency is bad, and in Xarcabard you usually make profit.
Tavnazian is more fun though .

When we are bored we go there during the week for a nice 2 hour AF2 farming run.

ES sleepga 2 is a guaranteed 90 sec sleep that overwrites sleep 1 which is nice on bigger pulls, I suppose changing the first party in my proposed setup to PLD DD DD WHM RDM BRD could be more efficient, though the BLMs can do pinch cures and such which makes it safer and sleepga 2 is nice as mobs will be asleep for a continuous 2.5 min if you overwrite when sleep's about to wear.

Initial sleepga on pull, then rdms stack sleep 2 as much as recsat supports it. The trade off for that 2.5 minutes of continuous sleep is that all the mobs wake at the same time. With at least some concentration of hate on the sleeper. By staggering the sleeps in such a fashion it cuts down the amount of sleeper death by a very wide margin. Not only that but a rdm is far more durable than a blm when mobs wake up.

Even if every melee vokes a mob during the span of time that a mob is asleep you are still looking at a fairly chaotic 30 seconds when that 2.5 minutes is over. The only real trade off is a mob or two that wakes after only 60 seconds as opposed to 2.5 minutes. With dynamis mobs and even an ideal idle set /nin on blm 2-3 mobs still = quick death.

With multiple people that have sleepga and decent communication, it's not too hard to have a RDM ready to resleep when BLMs spell wears. In tavnazia, limited movement takes away from this a bit, but in other zones the blm can run a bit until rdm sleepga goes off. Also, /nin is silly in dynamis.. 350 stoneskin + 2 hits of blink + idle gear > utsusemi for multiple mobs, phalanx is nice, and obviously fast cast/having cures is <3. Note that this is coming from the perspective of someone who frequently dual boxed RDM/BLM(with a near perfect enfeeb setup) and BLM/RDM(also with a near perfect enfeeb setup).. the people that use BLM sleep only are stupid, but devaluing sleepga 2 is pretty stupid as well. It costs much more MP/casttime for multiple RDMs to spam sleep2 on stuff than to just cast one sleepga2.. and even in xarc/tav BLM can get upwards of 80% full sticks with a proper setup.

The "best" setup in Dynamis-Tavnazia depends on what your objective is.

    - If you are specifically going for Nightmare Leeches/Clusters, then it's more beneficial to have a BLM party instead of an extra melee party.
    - If you're farming Hydra/Kindred/Taurus, you typically get better results with more melee instead.
    - If you're going for Diabolos, it's better to have a mixed alliance because you can't predict which Diabolos you'll get.

It's largely based on how well the group works with each other on whether you choose to have a set tank party or distribute the tanks and support mages over the alliance.

In general I agree with just about everything Bercus listed, except I usually have the THF as one of the melee and bring an extra WHM in the tank party instead. That WHM could easily be replaced by a SCH or even another RDM depending on what job availability your group has overall.

I don't recommend rotating the BRDs and CORs unless you are setting up for something like Diabolos. It's ok to do rotations for a short period of time, but no BRD/COR will want to do it every two minutes for two hours.

Vanguard Eyes in Tavnazia have ~2000 HP and are similar to the ones in Beaucedine. The difference in difficulty between Hydra and Kindred in Tavnazia and their Beaucedine/Xarcabard counterparts is really marginal.

Xarcabard has a higher number of drops overall for us. Returns in Tavnazia have been better since the update, but if your goal is only Xarcabard AF and not Hydra/AF-1 then you'll be better off in Xarcabard instead. Tavnazia tends to be a more appealing option though if Dynamis zones are in high demand on your server because it's certainly not as popular.

All BLMs with support is pretty amazing.

I believe we were doing it something like.

BLM BLM BLM BLM RDM BRD
BLM BLM BLM BLM RDM BRD
BLM BLM BLM BLM THF BRD

Could use COR and SCH in this also.

Thief was /ra'ing to proc TH on all, could do BLM or BRD sub i guess also. Sleep pulls and kill eyes ASAP. BLM's were -ga3'ing everything except NIN's and SMN mobs. These were saved for last so they could be dealt with properly to avoid wipes.

If my mind serves me correctly we were able to.

    Enter
    Pull and kill bugard
    Kill antlion
    Kill worm
Kill 2nd floor to ??? - I think mobs on this floor sucked so we rushed thru here to get to the juicy stuff on the top floor.

Move everyone except for ??? person to the 3rd floor.
Inner ring drops glass gets one from doorman and reenters and rejoins ally
Head to 3rd floor and clear north East wing til you get to ??? - do not click until you need to (low on time). Farm clusters by pulling and -ga3'ing the groups.
Move to inner ring again and repeat popping process
Farm the repops, pray for awesome drops from bombs.
    Exit

Haven't gotten to Tav yet, but from the sounds of it, you don't kill the boss everytime to farm here? So kinda like Valk where you can farm beforehand just for an hour?

the extensions in tav are different, you start with 15 min
    +15 for bugard
    +30 for antlion
    +30 each for the 2 ???s

And no, you usually don't kill the boss.. it's a waste of farming time unless you want win for epeen or something.

I go with Pld, thf, rdm, blm, blm, sch
2x 3 dd, brd, rdm, whm
All rdm/blm so blms can just do thier own thing, dds comprise of a real mix, normally a couple of wars for voke and mix the rest.

I would like to try a manaburn if just to have some success with clusters, (we always get owned by these lol ) .

Relic wise we have found tav great for the time spent, getting between 5-10 af seems about the norm, plus a hydra item of some discription, and a couple of -1s.

Use todo b4 they bumped rates, be lucky to see 2 af back then.

So I was under the impression that once you made the max number of glasses for a dynamis area an extras wouldn't work. Apparently that's wrong as a lot of you guys are doing Tavnazia with 18 and having your puller (or whomever pops the 2nd and 3rd floor TE's) drop their glass and get a new one? I just want to make sure that it works like that as it'd make farming repops a lot easier to have our Thf just drop his glass and come back in.

You can do as many hourglasses as you want. But only the first 18 people entering Dynamis, will be allowed to go back in if they drop the original copy. Your THF can also use Tavnazia ring if you don´t have mule. Works just as good as dropping glas.

So let´s say 18 people are in Dynamis-Tavnazian.
THF drops glas. You can´t get another person in, even though 17 people
are only in Dynamis at this time.

Only the THF is allowed to go back.

Same for B/V/Q. You have 36, 2 drop the glas, you won´t be able to get 2 new people in.
Only the 2 that dropped glas would be able to go back in.

That makes sense. Our group can get a mule so we'll start doing this to help out with the repops after the timers on each floor.

We usually took the following when we were full:

    Pt. 1
    PLD/WAR x2
    WHM
    RDM
    BRD
    SAM

    Pt. 2
    DRK
    SAM
    THF
    BRD
    RDM
    WHM

    Pt. 3
    BLM x5
    COR

We always cleared one side of the hydra mobs including pugils, and cleared one side of the demon floor including the taruses twice (once after the first 30 min extension and once after the last 30 min extension).

Tav isn't going to help you build a whole lot of bank but the drop rate is incredibly forgiving in comparison to any of the other zones. We always came out of there with a few nice things. It's easy to screw up the run on a bad pull or w/e but the risk involved in doing Tav is well worth your linkshell's time. Happy people > gil imho.

    2 more quick questions

Entering in about 2 hours and just wondering about 2 things:

    Bees: 100 fists move dispellable?

    Worm: ES silenceable or no?

    Thanks

    1. Not 100% tested but I think its not dispellable. Bees go down fast enough anyway.

    2. Worm = no subjob = no ES silence applicable. Again, worm die in less than a min.

Thanks all for the asssistance. Run went ok. Got all TE so spent full 2 hours. Had some problems on the floor 2 TE so didn't get to farm many hydra but got full side on 3rd floor along with some of the repops.

Even with TH4 took it pretty hard on drops. Cor Hat only. Considering was first run for shell I'll take it given the fact we didn't time out at 45 minutes or so.
