    Enspell 1 vs Enspell 2?

When I first got Enspell, it seems rather sucky, due to doesn't proc on mutli hit weapons, /NIN offhand hit and such. However, when second wielding Joyeuse, would Enspell 2 actually be better?

Article taken from Alla (original credit to Hadesbothari)

    Joyeuse : 35D 224 Delay

    Delay with 35% haste = 146

    Attack Rounds in 30 mins = 740
    Swings in 30 mins = 1110

    Enspell I Dmg = 1110 x 20 = 22200

Enspells II go from 18 - 36 at the rate of +1 DMG per hit. So It takes 18 Hits (18, 19, 20...35) the average of this is 26.5. This happens every time you recast Enspell II. With 'Composure' up, An Enspell II (assuming same duration as enspell I) lasts 7min 30s.. So 4 casts in 30 mins (3 if you end exactly at 30 mins). So 18 x 4 hits at 26.5 dmg Enspell II.. the rest of the hits at 36

    Enspell II Dmg = 72 x 26.5 + 668 x 36 = 1908 + 24048 = 25956
So looks like Enspell II is actually more powerful than Enspell I even the second hit doesn't proc? (unless you /NIN of course)

I haven't seen anyone else post this on BG yet, though I may have missed it...

Initial damage is the same formula as Enspell 1, however it does recalculate every time you swing(I was wrong about that earlier), so it doesn't matter how much Enhancing you cast in initially, only how much you have at the point of each swing, so if you swing in 300 skill you will start with 20 and work up 1/hit, if you idle in 260-279 you start at 18, and so on.

The cap is double whatever your current calculated initial base is. If you cast and melee in 300 skill, you will start at 20, then tick up to 40. If you swap to 260-279, start at 18, tick up to 36. If you cap at 36 then swap into 300+, you will tick your way up to 40. If you swap back down after hitting higher cap, you will still only be able to cap at the cap for your current initial base. If you swap back down after hitting higher cap, then swap back up, you'll be right at the higher cap already, and won't have to tick back up.

If you're single-wielding, use enspell 2's. With Hollow Earring meleeing in 258 I get 37/swing, compared to the 23/swing I get if I cast enspell1 in 300. It won't proc on 33%~ of your Joy/Justice swings, but since it's more than 150% the damage of an enspell 1 it will still do more overall, especially with Composure up(so it spends more time at cap).

If you're dual wielding, especially offhanding a DA weapon, use Enspell 1s.
