I'm ready to begin my third AF quest!

I read the description on the wiki and I'm a bit scared. Ulbrecht is way OP and since I'm a taru, I know he can wipe me out with two good nukes. Or maybe one.
Since 50 SCH is my highest job and I've never fought Ulbrecth, I have some questions.

Is the area level capped?
Would a basic party setup do the job?
A friend told me a 75 SMN could solo it. If so, would a party be overkill?

Its not capped, and any self sufficient 75 should be able to solo it.

And you should be able to duo it with any Lv. 75/nin job. A full party would definitely be overkill unless you are talking about a group of Lv. 50~'s.

Two LV75s can kill easily. A couple of 75s can solo, but that depends on what the 75 is (BRD Might have trouble).

point being, we had no problem what so ever and I was /dnc and the time it took him to cast one nuke after another was so slow that I had time to not only rebuild TP from waltz but cure myself where he gained 0 ground on me.

Duo'd this with 75MNK/NIN and DRG/WHM for mine (and have been back twice helping friends with same combo), Hundred fists from MNK took off most of his HP, the Cure IV spam he can do is a tad annoying but not terribly cumbersome.

Any 1 or 2 solid lvl 75 DD jobs that can somewhat tank and have cures will flatten the nasty scholar dude. Could most likely solo on DD/DNC or DRG/WHM without much hassle.

His t3 nukes did about 500 without shell, but he casts storms and cures on himself a lot. I imagine any DD/nin and a 50 sch could duo it.

I nearly soloed it with no prep as 75 RDM/NIN (failed around 20-25%), went back later with a 75 SMN, and cleared it with ridiculous ease.

So really, just bring any 75, and you should be fine, just function as their healer

This fight was easy until Tabula Rasa came into play. Then Albrecht really started to pick up on his tricks. Duoed on 75SAM/WAR and 75WHM/SMN no problem though. Was better than /NIN since Manifestation makes his damage spells AOE.

Soloed on RDM/BLM with no problems couple days ago. The fight took a while but he never got me alarmingly low on MP so I could have nuked more to speed things up.

ya iam on that fight too, think a good SAM/RNG can kill him fast? or i need to use my PLD/RDM?

He's no real danger at all. Triod it with a 75RNG 75RDM, and I was lvl60. Though I admired the AI SE put into him heh.

He did Rainstorm -> Manifestation -> Water III.

Too bad it doesn't work that way when a player uses it.

Duoed it with WHM (me) and a DRK. Easy as hell.

Soloed mine as SMN75. Garuda'd most of it, Carbuncle'd rest when MP was low. Very easy.
