what is this i dont even
What is this I don't even
is my reaction to this as well. I was watching since it was the only thing on ESPN networks worth watching, and figured "What the hell. I'll watch the US get owned 3-0 or something by Spain real quick." So when they scored, I was obviously surprised. The fact that they won just.. astounds me. Honestly, the U.S. looked terribad in it's first games. I didn't think they stood a chance.
It was a fun game to watch though, I have to admit, and I'd probably put College Football/MLB/NFL > NBA/NCAAM > Golf > etc way before soccer.
I just watched the whole game. I rubbed my eyes to mke sure that I was readng the team names right.
Wow....
From the surprised reactions i presume this was a football game. (soccer)
Futbol GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL!
You'd be correct.
METE UNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN
Does USA suck that bad? I dunno
Colin Cowherd was going off about this game this morning, talking about how the USA had no chance, and was making fun of anyone who suggested otherwise. He was comparing it to the USA playing Luxembourg in basketball.
Not that I disagreed with him, but I'm going to have to tune in tomorrow, see what kind of crow he eats.
I've always enjoyed international soccer, maybe this will stir up some interest in next year's World Cup for the USA. That would be fun.
Everybody from usa get in here

Was at work, didn't watch it, but followed the liveblog. Apparently this was a pretty big upset. Spain had won, like, 18 strait international games and hadn't allowed a goal in the confederation cup. The US was like, 1-11 against top ranked teams.
I think I'm most excited about hearing ESPNradio tomorrow morning at 10EST. Especially after writing a rap titled "how bad is the US going to get beat" and spending an hour of your four hour show talking about how bad the US team is going to get hammered.
Next up for the US, a rematch with brazil on sunday.
Compared to most European and South American nations? Yes.
We got lucky as hell getting to this game in the first place. It came down to like the 4th tiebreaker. Even getting there we were supposed to get stomped. Spain hadn't even allowed a goal for most of the tourney if not the whole thing.
This is the equivalent of the Lions beating the Pats or Giants 42-0.
I was just thinking how barely anyone in the US probably even knows that they're going into the finals.
Not that it matters, Brasil is gonna kick ass <3
edit: yeah, only reason the USA made it to the semi finals was because of how badly we stomped Italy, rofl
So much for clearly labeled threads or decent sports mods.
Eticket, I think you mean South America, the US blows away most anyone in the CONCACAF*
I'm a firm believer that in the next 15-20 years the US will be a dominant fixture in international soccer. And by dominant, I mean we'll win the WC before England.
