OK this issue has been bugging me for a while, except today it accidentally deleted a HUGE email I had been writting, so I'm really pissed about it.

Basically, the problem I'm having is that while typing on my macbook, I think it's registering random trackpad input and making the cursor jump around the screen, highlighting blocks of text or just making me type in places I don't intend. Rarely, as well, the mouse pointer will move around the screen in jumps.

Before you suggest it, I'm really careful to not touch the trackpad while typing, so I know that's not the issue. I think it's registering the input somehow, either from my brushing against it or from a short or something.

I guess my question is whether or not there's a way to disable the trackpad only while typing, or disable it altogether (since I never move my macbook and use a seperate mouse with it)? Does anyone else have this problem?

I'm tired of losing half my emails and forum posts and having to rewrite almost everything
