Running what I hope is a routine check on some peeps who have recently come to Alexander from Valefor. Apparantly former members of Empathy linkshell.

Epoc (and his brother Ipoc) are good friends of mine - one of those people I started the game with (first linkshell social deal) but i dont keep good contact. If he hasnt changed in the last 6 months to 5 years, then Epoc is a master of the gils, and generally a good guy. Easy to get along with, dont know much about his experience in the game though as I quit the semi/onandoff/maybe/isnolonger endgame ls he was in before he joined due to a discrepancy of sorts I didn't agree with.

Disappointed they decided to jump without telling anyone though, so I question their commitment/loyalty a little now. You've got 2 good members as far as Beny and Viva go though.

Got a bit more to say on this now.

All 4 of them got a lot of decent gear in the week or so before they jumped (Rox and Epoc got the drops from our first ever Ultima run, Roxana W Legs, Benylin Haidate and W Legs within the last month), so I'm getting the feeling this may have been planned a little more than I first believed.

Its also come to light that Roxana and Epoc attempted to recruit at least 3 others to jump with them (possibly more, I haven't been round the LS interrogating people, just what's come up in conversation).

None of that is earth shatteringly immoral, but it is shady as shit, and has caused a hell of a lot of bad feeling in the shell. IMO, it speaks volumes about their character.

I'm not sure how receiving drops from a shell is shady.

Personal interpretation. I see burning points with the intent to leave the shell as soon as you've got what you wanted as dishonest (basically a big "fuck you" to everyone who helped get that gear).

You might see it as they've earned it, its theirs, they can do whatever the hell they want, and thats fine, I wouldn't say that you were wrong. If everyone did that however, there would be no LS's left anywhere, save merc. LS's. I'm pretty sure you'd be a bit peeved if one of your members took off with, say, one of Odin/Sandworm/Ixions drops, or something without so much as a goodbye.

Did they turn up to events? Yes.
There's an extended answer to that question, but that goes into the realms of conjecture and drama, so I won't elaborate any further.

My recommendation stands: Beny and Viva are good people, Rox and Epoc, not so much.

Empathy Lotting rules are as follows:
Each item is set with a point for lotting
Each item has a HP point as well, which is double the base price.
Example: Zenith Mitts are 25 points.

Bob has 25 points
Sue has 50 points.

Bob says he will use 25, Sue says she will use 50.
Sue is now the only one to lot on Zmitts should they drop.

If Jan, Tom, Dick, Harry & John also have 50 points, Sue now lots against the three people with the highest points. (until two weeks ago when a ls meeting was mandated, all six of those people with points could have lotted)

Empathy allows members to have other shells, and can come and go as they please.
If you choose to do sky with Empathy, you can show up for Omega and use those points without setting a foot in a limbo.

Likewise, you can do Limbus exclusively with Empathy, and show up the minute before Byakko is popped, and lot on Haidate.

You are allowed to lot one item per GOD.
If two Kirin are popped.
You can lot and potentially win Kosode the first time
The second Kirin, you can lot and potentially win Wlegs.

It's a good linkshell and better than it was when it started.
You can go six months without winning a single item, or win three items in the same night. You are at the mercy of your cast lots and treasure.
I am not sure if this lotting info has changed as of recently, but I hope it clarifies any confusion.

Seeing as how when I left I STILL had well over a thousand points, Roxana and I always helped people in shell and out, begged the LS leaders to do sea with no success, begged there to be a change to point management with no succes, and THEN find out from another sack that Zaria and Alexious (sacks) who we thought were friends were talking so badly of us behind our back that one of the sacks sincerely appologized for not standing up for us.
I hardly call it shady to leave, fact is the shell had a meeting to try and do something about people having thousands of points and not getting to use them because anyone could join get the required points they needed, not lift another finger and only show up for what they want and castlots, while the rest of us (roxana, myself, viva etc just got to watch as we get out lotted by new members, while still sitting on thousands of points from months of events) The meeting ended with Roxana and I finding about Zaria and Alexious' two faces, rumors or Alexious (main sack) leaving valefor with out a word to go to ramuh, a two week break in the shell, still no sign of sea support, and no sign of help for loyal members to actually get to use thier massive points pool, a sack (not alex) stealing pop items ABC's and probably gil, a sack telling us that lakey (the leader) wants to break the shell or give another sack lead.

I don't know who you are mysteriousx, but you clearly do NOT have all the facts, and as far as recruiting people? lol Viva and Benylin (no idea who this third person you are talking about is) were on my Flist and noticed I was on Alexander and said "they would miss us, and that we were the reasons this game was fun" I simply said you can join us if you like, this shell seems really good, can always go back in 90 days if you dont like it.

We left to find a decent and fair EU linkshell, thats it, no hidden agenda's or anything else period. We didn't tell anyone BECAUSE we didn't want drama. Every person that sent me a message on Flist I specifically asked them not to say anything, that the only people that needed to know already knew via Flist. Now if we wanted to recruit don't you think we would have said something in /linkshell or on the forum?

Now Lakey (leader of Empathy) is great guy, a good leader, and I will always consider him a friend. But I feel like he doesn't want to deal with the drama (can't blame him) and would rather let his sacks run the shell. I've never seen him stand up take charge and say this is how it is, even during events when rubish would come up. And after the meeting with all that was stated above Roxana and I had enough, we did NOT start drama about us leaving did NOT resort to back talking like two sacks did, and certainly did NOT try to recruit others to leave, we simply took the shell off.

To be honest I am rather disgusted with it all, Roxana and I have helped so many people with missions quests blu spells etc and we get called shady in the end of it, my hat is off~

Benny. Played with benny from my 1st Ls and is a nice guy likes to die allot but plays pld well and works hard. Bit surprised by Benny just upping and leaving,
Viva. Enjoyed my time with viva. Guessing she jump as meeting she arranged didn’t go way she liked. Plays her jobs well
Epoc. Plays every job really well. Will tell you if he doesn’t like what you say or do (not a bad thing in most occasions) Epoc like a Swiss army knife job for every occasion. Class player
Roxana. Play mage jobs really well, likes SMN best but hate if u say a bad word about any mage job so don’t badmouth any of them or your get in the neck xD. But again plays game very well and best smn I played with.

And epoc I’m not leaving to go rahmuh lol and Reason I’m not been on and I had to delay sea is I’m leaving the game to travel Australia for 6 month =O with GF so was kinda arranging stuff sorry about that. And only bad word I’ve had said bout you guys is god you moan which you did on occasion but dam I was never tried to be nasty toward you guys. I apologise if I seemed this way.

Good to hear from you actually ^^ Yeah I wasn't sure what happened to you, but like I said it was rumored you went to ramuh with leebo or summin crazy.

I realy don't know what all was said in the sack party during the meeting, all I do know is a sack told us we were getting stabbed in the back and by who. Yeah we moaned alot I called it begging for changes some may call it moan lol same thing.

Other then what we heard from another sack, I've never had any issues with you at all, and always considered you a friend, I consider 99.9% of empathy as friends, and it was not an easy decision to leave you guys. Yes we did consider leaving empathy for a long while, but wanted so badly to stay, it's why we moaned so much, for so long, we wanted things repaired, BECAUSE we didn't want to leave. As you know we didn't want anything from sky, but for a very long time we continued to go hoping for support on sea week which really never happened. (Towards the end we didn't support sky, but we did support everything else.) That in conjuction with people only showing to lot on what they want... while loyal members sat on a heap of points... it was very frustrating. But we stayed.. and I will admit the bad mouthing we heard of came from a different sack, and I was a bit shocked you didn't stand up for us when you knew the entire situation.

The events in that meeting was the breaking point, there were 0 plans to leave before it, and there were no events after it for us to burn points as it were before we left, so yeah I'm a bit sad for being called shady, we were loyal members and worked hard for the shell, and never took advantage of anyone. You and I both know it, Lakey knows it, but obviously some do not have all the facts.

You all knew lotting rules to start with if you werent happy with them you could have let ls sooner. Yes you guys did show to events for the most part (Beny all he had access to) . I myself didnt need sky asll cept for w.legs but I showed every events even those I didn't/dont need even before I was a sacholder. In the sh meeting I will tell you what was said np we said you guys wanted the meeting so yes we had it since all ya mostly did was complain for the most part which in fact I did say to Rox before that you guys complained alot sadly

Firstly thanks for all the responses and 'personal opinions' but what actually matters here is bare facts.

i) Valefor is a dying server.

ii) Viva, Myself, Epoc and a few others were sat on ridiculous amounts of points and begged several times for something to be done about it. However the linkshell supported people who just wished to turn up for 1 single event grab what they wanted and then sign out till next thing they wanted having earned points for doing it too. So comments about how we acted above are nothing but slander and sour feelings because we'd asked nicely on several occassions for something to be looked into.

iii) There is nothing shady about a server move we told our friends, so stop making drama which is exactly the reason we left quietly to avoid drama.

iv) People who we thought were friendly were indeed bad mouthing us behind our backs, evidence seen thank you. I wont however stoop as low as some to start further drama and bitching over something so minor, and neither be as cowardly as some to hide my identity while I have a good old bitch because I have nothing better to do in life.

v) Linkshell leader, a previous one may I add and not one of the current ones was a thief to the linkshell and it's members. And despite this was allowed back to the linkshell to thieve further.

vi) zaria I'm very saddened by you, we were always friendly and I always supported you despite knowing from others what you are capable of. To see the nasty comments you were making behind our backs as a shell leader was very saddening indeed. I guess I should of listened to what everyone said about you. I guess you will also be enjoying this thread as it a new drama for you. May I suggest you focus your efforts on something that matters, you're own life.

Myself and Epoc helped several members, outside of shell events including getting them access to areas, and camping NM's for hours on end. Missions, quests and everything and this is no secret. We were friendly, and supported the shell 100%, did not hold any other shells at all, remained totally faithful to empathy.

FFXI is a game, how you treat each other is real. We showed nothing more than respect and loyalty to our previous shell and it was not returned in many ways. But as for writing on forums, I won't be looking at or answering this ridiculous thread any longer. It's a game, and it's for friends, and this is nothing more than a pathetic witch-hunt for people who have nothing better to do. New people likewise should make their own minds up on who and what we are, of course we're going to defend ourselves and the people left behind are going to bitch about it cause everyone unfortunately loves a drama, hence the rubbish we get posted over our TV screens all the time. There was no poaching going on whatsoever that is simply a lie. This is blown up out of all proportion and in my opinion nothing short of pathetic and childish over a game online. I am very sad to see witch hunts like this over a game, if anyone has a problem with me then speak to my face rather than air it over the internet, or just grow up, get a life, and get on with it. And we were also told from the start that it was a sky AND sea shell, and it NEVER was. And the lotting rules were fine until random, unloyal people started showing up to lot and leave, while no support was shown for sea, and loyal member sat on heaps of points. And that didn't come to pass until recently and you know it.
As I said we didn't leave right away because we wanted to stay, we were loyal, and had many freinds in empathy.
You on the other hand were not a friend, did not try to fix the problems, opposed solutions, and would rather say my way or highway just like now rather then support loyal members.

Btw Empathy IS a merc LS, instead of paying gil you donate just enough time to get what you want then leave just like people have been.

In Beny's defense, he got two items while in Empathy: Kirin's Osode, Byakko haidate.
Kirin Osode came from a previous pop set from a ls that merged with Empathy = moot.
He spent 768 points during an experimental lot system, well over the normal 200, on a byakko that he donated half a pop set for.
Viva has recieved nothing.

That is a flat out lie, I never asked anyone to come with us period, three people on flist (Lakey, Viva and Beny) asked where we went, (Even they didn't even know we left until after the fact) I told them, and told two they can come if they want, that is NOT recruiting. That is telling people on my flist where we went and inviting them, period. Since you seem to think we tried to recruit half the linkshell, tell us your name coward so I can have a talk with Lakey about it or stop posting lies.
All you are doing is proving the point to everyone why we left, and that we had good reason, and making yourself look like a fool. Even the main ls sack said none of the rubbish you have because it simply is not true. Empathy has problems and anyone seeing the ls rules can see that easily, all you are doing is making it public and steering people away from empathy. I for one wouldn't want to be in a ls with a drama queen posting lies and rubish for the entire ffxi community to see.

I'll just step in here to say that I was not recruited to 'jump ship'.
No one held a gun to my head while I put in the information to transfer.
I took a three month break and transferred to Fairy last year during this same time.
Last week on Friday I noticed my FList had someone on another server. This server or a jump had never been discussed. While I had mentioned going to another server, a particular destination or day to leave was not mentioned or finalized.

The only items on my wish list were as follows: Kitty Pants & Zmitts.
I still have neither. I am not sad, unhappy, or jaded because of this and it wasn't what prompted me to jump.
In fact, the ls I am in now DOESN'T farm in sky. I have to get the pop on my own. If this was the case in Empathy, I would have had Haidate and Zmitts nine months ago lol!

Wednesday night, a day after my transfer I went to log on to the ls website to put my 'I am taking a break' post, when I found out I couldn't log on due to an invalid account. I googled 'Viva + valefor' and this post came up. That is when I realized Empathy found out before I could put an official word in. For that, I am sorry.

What I am not sorry for, is telling the honest people who worked as hard or harder than I did, that some person was potentially posting inaccurate information. I have no problem posting who I am, or my accomplishments, but in the same light I will post the good deed and work of those who were with me being loyal.

Empathy was and is a good shell. I wanted two items, and lost lots for eight months straight. Bad luck? Very. Did I have pearl sacks and members giving me 'good luck' /tell when we did Haidate? Every time...Did I walk away empty handed? No. I had a good time and enjoyed the majority of it, that is what counts. Would I go back? If on the server, and they would have me, probably.

For the time being, I am starting school and need a break. As one of the members with a lot of points, I did a lot of work with Empathy in the last eight months, but wouldn't have the ability to give that same commitment in the following time.
