Vana'Diel Madness 2009

Hey, remember 2007? Do you remember that year? I do. I remember there was this big bonanza sweeping BG Forums in March 2007, and I've decided, we need it back. We need Vana'Diel Madness to happen, again, and NOW.

In the spirit of August Madness, the OrderoftheBlueGartr Forums will be holding a tournament of its own between FFXI NPCs. We have selected characters from all across Vana'Diel (past and present) to battle it out over the course of the next three weeks.

Instead of the traditional 16 seeds from 4 NCAA regions, we are going with 12 seeds from 12 different areas & times of Vana'Diel. All forum users are encouraged to vote when the tournament begins.

Interested users can submit "brackets" to predict the outcome of each bracket, by filling out the brackets that have been set up and sending it to me (Rocl) via PM. The PM of your title must read "VM Entry: Bracket Group # entry" or something similar.



Brackets must be received before the following times:

Aug 20: Championship Bracket must be completed and turned in to be eligible for prizes.


Aug 13 (11:00 AM EST): Besieged Bracket, Jeuno Bracket, Windurst [S] Bracket, Bastok [S] Bracket GROUP I

Aug 18 (11:00 AM EST): San d'Oria [S] Bracket, Wings of the Goddess Bracket, Chains of Promathia Bracket, San d'Oria Bracket GROUP II

Aug 26 (11:00 AM EST): Bastok Bracket, Windurst Bracket, World Ender Bracket, Aht Urhgan Bracket GROUP III

Polls will take place starting at 11:00 AM, and be open for at least 24 hours. The dates for each polls are as follows:

Bracket Group I, Round One: Aug 13 -> Aug 14
Bracket Group I, Round Two: Aug 14 -> Aug 15
Bracket Group I, Finals : Aug 15 -> Aug 16


Bracket Group II, Round One: Aug 18-> Aug 19
Bracket Group II, Round Two: Aug 19-> Aug 20
Bracket Group II, Finals : Aug 20-> Aug 21


Bracket Group III, Round One: Sept 20 -> Sept 21
Bracket Group III, Round Two: Sept 22 -> Sept 23
Bracket Group III, Finals : Sept 24 -> Sept 25


Finals Round I : Sept 26 -> Sept 27
Finals Round II : Sept 28 -> Sept 29
Finals Round III: Sept 30 -> Sept 31
Prizes
There will be a prize for winning each bracket, and a prize for winning the Finals bracket. However, winning the Finals bracket will be much more difficult because of the deadline imposed.

The prizes for winning Bracket Groups I, II, & III will be: A Custom Forum Title of your choosing.
The prizes for winning the Finals Bracket will be: A Custom Forum Title of your choosing, a 3-day ban of one person of your choosing on the forums. (Unfortunately, members of OrderoftheBlueGartr LS, Moderators, and Administrators are exempt.)

Any prizes are subject to change without notice, and more than likely will. Keep your eyes posted to see any changes! (Any prize changes will be applied retroactively as well)

Regular Bracket:
Round 1 - 1 point per correct entry
Round 2 - 2 points per correct entry
Round 3 - 3 points per correct entry

Finals Bracket:
Round 1 - 5 points per correct entry
Round 2 - 10 points per correct entry

Round 4 - 50 points for correct champion
