Blackscreen problem

Ok during the APB beta sunday night, my game blackscreen'd 4 times, any sound effects were constant, and then my monitor automatically went into power-saving mode, and wouldn't come back on. Now usually, power-saving happens when the monitor thinks the PC is off, but it wasn't... so I'm wondering if this is a harware issue on my end? If so does anyone have any advice on how I would check what it would be? I presume if the monitor is turning off, that it will probably be my GFX card, but any help would be appreciated.

Currently I'm running Aion on full specs and have never encountered this problem on there, and neither have I on any steam games.

Intel Core2 Quadcore 2.33GHz
4GM RAM
768MB Nvidia Geforce 9600 GS
Vista 64

i'm having the exact same issues atm. i tried the suggestion in this thread: Possible Black Screen Crash fix?? by changing the "power meiser" settings to disable power saving but i still have this issue. most consistently i can replicate the effect in the KS99 wyrm fight, though it has happened in salvage and while tanking proto-omega (let's just be thankful it wasn't something harder...) at this point, i'm about ready to tear the card out despite the high price i paid and throw it out the blasted window. all i can discern thus far is that it has specific triggers and that it's NOT a driver crash as that would leave a minidump blueprint as the system bombed out which i have not seen. i'm also getting issues bringing the computer back up after a crash wherein about 50% of the time, it will reset and bounce back to the bios at which point it tries to boot again. my setup is xp 32 bit running on an intel dual core and running a gigabyte nvidia 8800 gt.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that it may be a problem with the beta you're playing. Can you duplicate the issue playing any other game? Maybe check ABP forums to see if anyone is having similar problems.

If that doesn't seem to be it, use Driver Sweeper to clear your Nvidia drivers in safe mode, reboot, and reinstall the newest drivers off the Nvidia site.

It has since happened on Aion once, and people haven't replied on the APB forums.

Thanks for the link to the site, im gunna try and find the setting myself and keep it on maximum.

Bump, i tried that link and downloaded the latest driver for my card but i cant get the "Power Management" part on the control panel. Any ideas?
