Monitor help

I want a new monitor for the PC I just built. Currently, I have a 21.5" Gateway FPD2185W. Max resolution of 1680x1050. The reds in this monitor seem a little oversaturated, and I'd like something with a higher resolution. Maybe even a glossy screen. I never considered a glossy screen until I saw those Apple Cinema Displays, which gave me a total boner. However, I don't want one of those, because they're overpriced and wouldn't go with the rest of my setup anyway.

So my question is, would you recommend a glossy monitor, and if not, why? Also, what brands of monitors do you recommend? I know absolutely nothing about monitors, but I'm looking at something around 23" to 24", hopefully $300 or lower.

Samsung T240HD, looks beautiful. Built in TV tuner, 2 HDMI inputs, nice sounding built in speakers, etc. $250.

is what I have, I like it, HDMI input is great for hooking my XBox 360 to. though the above Samsungs look good too. also, lolbestbuy.

I had that exact same monitor Kobus linked, which I sold to buy the Samsung's I linked above. The difference in size is really amazing. For $40 more, the Samsung gives you an extra HDMI port, slightly larger resolution (1920 x 1200), TV tuner, and component in. The speakers on the monitor sound pretty good too, which is hard to find. It also comes with a remote which is wtfawesome.

Since you've got $300 to spend, you could even grab another $20 and get the 25.5" version. I bought these monitors for the PS3 I am planning to buy for FFXIII, and from first hand experience, you won't be disappointed.

Just recently my not so old -_-;;;;;; Samsung SyncMaster 204B craped out on me, I use dual monitors my other being a dinky lil 18" Dell monitor.

I now see this as as prime opportunity to upgrade both!!!
