    A couple quick webdesign questions

    1) How feasible is it to create something, in PHP or otherwise, which will allow me to update one document and update text content and have it update to two different sites (i.e. out flash and non-flash versions of our website)?

    2) What ways are there to automatically detect and re-direct someone who visits your website away from your flash website if they do not have flash installed (i.e. browsing on a iphone, tech retard, etc) to a non-flash version of the website?

Thanks in advance to anyone who has any solutions.

    1. I believe flash supports php stuffs within the code, so quite easy if you point it to the same database, but in my view php is the easy part, i have not worked with flash much

this article may help but there's loads around: http://www.kirupa.com/developer/acti..._php_mysql.htm

    2. there are but from what i recall it's not 100% reliable and you're better off having a "front page" asking the user if they got flash.

I'm not sure about number 1, but as far as flash detection, Adobe provides a Flash detection kit which you can find here, the documention should explain what you need.

Wow nice - that flash detection kit looks pretty handy. Thanks.

Now if only I can find someone who can program a "job board" for me -_- I just started at a new company and their website is in shambles... we do have bucks for any interested programmers out there or for people who work at a programming consultant firm.

Yeh thanks for the flash detection kit, I never knew that existed, and it's "official" too.
