    PSP power issues

    Hi! I've got a PSP Slim, probably well out of warranty (bought in August 2008 ) and it's been fine except recently I left it plugged in to charge, and then only really played it near the charger so left it plugged in then as well.

    Anyway today i come to pick it up and realised that the orange LED wasn't on any more, and the battery was down to 1/3.

    So I tried a different charger and a different socket and it didn't start charging, but the USB charge still works. Also, taking out the battery and trying to get it to run on direct power doesn't work at all.

    So in summary:
    Battery = fine
    Charger = fine
    USB charge = fine
    Direct DC power = not fine (doesn't give power, doesn't charge battery)

    So, any ideas? I don't want to get caught out and run the battery down completely only to discover that I can't recharge it because there's not enough juice to start the PSP up and get it in USB mode.

    have you tried a different power cord?

    I'm assuming your using the wall charger? Could just be the cord burnt out?

    Yes, I tried that No, it's not that the cord burned out. I tried 2 completely different chargers.

    I'm guessing you haven't messed w/ the NAND dumps, have you? If that ain't it, chances are the power fuse crapped on you. To make sure it's the fuse, you'd have to disassemble and connect wires between the fuses. If yes, then you'd have to solder it. Needless to say, it's a freakin mess if you haven't tinkered w/ PCBs, good luck!

    tl;tr: the juice fuse is gone.

    Bugger. Nope, I haven't really done anything to it except to basic Pandora mod it to play from the memory stick (not really into the homebrew scene so I haven't done anything weird in there). I've been using official everything for battery/charger etc. too so no shonky Chinese shit either lol.

    What a pain in the arse. I might just have to get an external battery charger and an extra battery then.

    Thanks!
