Other airlines and airports as horrible as this one?

Got to FLL on Friday for my 7:30 flight, shit got delayed and canceled. They refused to comp me a hotel or even a bottle of water cause it was weather related. I can understand and at least accept that, cept every other airline next to me is compin hotels, meals, and flights.

To make me feel worse, everything to eat at this airport closed at 8pm, and now they got me leaving at 5:30am, and am headin to an airport double the driving distance of my original one. Very pissed about that, and then they refuse to comp me for anything for that inconvinience.

Moral of the story? Don't fly airtran trying to save a buck when trying to making it for a birthday and poontang. Any one got a preference in airline in order to be better taken care of or even helped when shit hits the fan? Also, anyone ever fly out of PBI and find it better then flying out of FLL?

Airtran has a very high disapproval rating, always research the assholes flying you. Saving a few bucks is never worth it if you're getting handed off to some third world quality airline.

I've had good experiences with southwest. I think they are one of the highest rated in customer satisfaction. I use american alot, they are good, not great.

TWA was bought out by American a few years ago, it was a joke.


If you're going to fly regularly, use American. It's worth it.

If not, fly Southwest, generally.

In my experience Delta > American = Southwest > Airtran

Went from only ever being on a plane twice in my life to flying an assload in the past 3 years. Flew Airtran twice, was miserable both times. The second and last time I flew Airtran was on my way home from vacation last year. They held me up at the counter when i was checking in for over a hour. I've never spent more then a few minutes checking in at the counters for any airline, so I found it unusual.

They didn't tell me why.. they just had me standing there. They didn't tell me why until the very last minute, saying it was a random security screening of my ID. The representative took my IDs in the back with all of my airline information I brought with me. They did not say a word, and didn't even ask me to step back or check in my luggage. Just stood their with my thumb up my butt. When I asked what was going on, she said "sorry sir, it shouldn't take long"

Finally a different person came out with my ID, said it was a random screening of my ID, and finally gave me my ticket. I had to race through security to get to the nearly empty plane... i would have felt fine if they would have simply told me what was going on at the start.

Delta has always treated me awesome. Canceled a flight once, knew I wasn't going to get my money back. Still got full credit for a flight later. Had to get a last minute plane ticket from DAL to Vegas last year (I mean quite literally, whats the next flight! I need on!) and when I called around and couldn't get answers, I called Delta and boom they took care of me and didn't rape me on charges.

The best Delta story was coming home from Vegas on Delta. They had a dumbass guy with a bottle of lighter fluid in his luggage in the back. Someone could smell it, and so they spent a hour trying to find out where it was coming from, and track the owner of the package. What was stupid is when they asked out loud whos it was, he didn't say anything immediately. Finally his wife said something and the guy played stupid and was like "oh ya thats mine" They escorted the guy off.

They stayed grounded for some time but the entire Delta crew on the plane was talking to us about every detail of the situation very comfortably. They also reassured us we were going home...(The crew was from Indy and didn't want to cancel the flight as much as we didn't)

Turns out the dumbass was an employee of the airlines. He was arrested and needless to say he wasn't going to be apart of Delta anymore.

What I liked about the situation was not being kept in the dark. Can see a lot of other airline services just keeping their mouths shut for the hour+ and finally saying "oh we are canceling" Nope, they kept us informed and comfortable, and got us home fast.

Everyone knows in their heart of hearts that Pan Am airlines was the best airlines in the history of commercial flight in every single aspect. But yea jetblue is the best now as far as in flight comfort these days.

I've always like Fort Lauderdale a LOT more than Palm Beach for flying into Boca, but that's just me.

Honestly nothing compares to the security lines at Newark so maybe I'm just biased.

Ok so now I'm in atlanta, and they canceled my connecting flight now. So after spending the night in the airport, I'm now 400 miles from my destination, and more then that away from home.

The reason? They now have no crew to fly my plane. Wtf? Now my only option is to standby on an already overbooked flight, rent a one way car to my destination airport with no compensation for the 6hr drive other then paying for the rental butnot food or gas (wtf who came up with this idea?), or leave tomorrow maybe (I'm already missing the gf's bday and now valentines). I fucking hate this airline.

Oh and the kicker? I hear other ppl getting free round trip comps for this bs. I get up front and ask, and they won't comp me for nada. I call the 800 number, explain what's going, and after being put on hold for awhile they tell me they can comp me for only 50 off my next flight.

Over this. So fucking over this. I hear good things on jetblue, they got my business next.

Gotta say I love Jetblue. Pretty comfy, food isn't the greatest but I've only been on the shorter flights, and when they did once lose my luggage they came and delivered it the next morning.
