Well, that's because the I wanted to lure you in to ask you to help me! Hi BG!

I'm attempting to collect data on what gamers, such as ourselves, think of when they think of "the quintessential librarian." This is for a Masters class in Library Studies (I'm not even taking it, but I'm a helpful gamer, so I'm making this thread!), so while I'm not asking you to do the homework, your input would be greatly appreciated. Now, I've seen quite a few internets in my days so I know what to expect when I say, "give me some pictures." Hence the possible NSFW tag. Goatse doesn't phase me, and I'm pretty sure he doesn't know much about books (besides maybe The Natural Wonders of the Earth's Greatest Caverns), but do what you need to do, guys (and girls).

Now, what do I need from you? SIMPLE!


I need but a single picture of a "librarian." Feel free to find it on the internet, scan it, dress up, MS paint, whatever! It can be from pop culture- movies, TVs, whatever. Do you think Gandalf would be the prefect librarian? Cool, post his picture! Think an old lady who bakes you cookies and brings you Manga would be the best? Awesome, find me a picture! Along with the picture I would love an Age (of you, not the librarian!) and a Sex (heh.... M/F pls).


Why should you help me? I made you a skillchain chart for FFXI once, YOU OWE ME. Okay you don't, but there is a real reason. Data like this is collected to understand the 'digital generation' and how you can be better served in your modern, local, library. IE. XBOX in your library? Promote literacy through gaming? Understanding information gathering techniques? XBOX (360?!) IN YOUR LIBRARY.

I picture a librarian as someone who may not know a particular answer to a question, but does know how to find the answer. MacGyver is the closest picture I can think of that embodies that.
