Bug? Synergy Items Lost

So I didn't feel it was necessary to post any pictures. Not that it'd really help.

Yesterday I was in Upper Jeuno in a party of three. After a couple of attempts to get the elements close for HQ, I decided to end synergy and collect my Ire Torque. No HQ. Owellz. I logged off maybe an hour after that to get ready for work.

However I log on today and it's not there. I checked my inventory, satchel, locker, everything. I figure ok, it's gotta be in the furnace. I go and click the furnace and it doesn't spit out my torque. Now I'm pissed, I triple check all of my inventories and nothing.

Now I suppose there's the possibility that yesterday I dropped or NPC'd some items in that short space of time before I went to work. I was farming Marlboro's for a little while after that, so it's possible, I don't really remember. But I really doubt that. In reality, I don't remember actually clicking the furnace to get the item in my inventory, or ever seeing it there. I think it's much more likely that the game bugged out.

It is a buggy game and normally shit that works fine just, sometimes screws up. There's that thread on the main page right now about the F5 Zhayolm frog not popping. I thought the same thing as others, that it was probably one dude that just dropped his magic cell or something and just wasn't fessing up. That aside, I have a personal experience from last month that I'm 99% sure is an awkward bug to a normally functioning game mechanic.

I signed up for the Steel Cyclone quest like 6 months ago. Got my axe. Chopped a couple mobs for points, and eventually got tired of the quest and put it in my /locker. 6 months later, I'm doing a mythic weapon and when I'm finished with that, I decide to bring out my axe and finish SS. After awhile, the latent visually changes when I equip it, indicating that the quest is done. I go back to the NPC, trade it to him, and he tries to give me a new axe instead. I check my logs, and I'm not even signed up for the Steel Cyclone quest, yet I'm sitting here witha finished axe. I message a GM about it and he tells me it's definitely bugged, but unfortunately there's nothing he can do about it and it's really not even worth filing a bug report at this stage of the game. End story.

Anyway that's about 600k and maybe about 30min-1hr lost. I think I'm just more ticked off that nothing can be done about it.

Has anyone else lost any items permanently through a synergy bug? Or am I the only one.

If you equip your trial axe and you see your stats change, then you're not done with WSNM points.

The latent effects _go away_ when you're done. Meaning you see nothing, no change, when you equip it.

That's what I meant by a visual change. The requirement had definitely been completed. The bug was that I had this axe on me, completed, but yet the quest wasn't even in my log. And the NPC acted in accordance to that by trying to give me a new axe (as if I was just starting the quest).

ive never lost anything, but i really don't do much synergy. I've left skill up mats in there like months before, but other than that I don't often leave stuff.

Did you try the same furnace, or different one? I heard any works, unless world transfer

Seems to be more than enough "I'm not sure", "don't remember", and "maybe"s in there to chalk this one up to user error, at least for the synergy part.

idk, I think the only reason you see all those is because he's trying to create reasonable doubt in his mind that it was his fault. If it's his fault oh well move on. If it was SE there's jack shit he can do about it and now has to worry in the future.

Did the synth in Upper Jeuno. When I realized I didn't have the item on me, I checked a furnace in sandy and got nothing. Then went back to Jeuno; same thing. Afterwards I tried a lil test. I made some orange juice, then before taking it out i dc'ed myself, logged back in, moved from Jeuno to Sandy, but when I checked the furnace I was able to receive the finished product (what I'd normally expect). Sucks ;/
