    Splinter Cell: Conviction

    Release Date: April 13, 2010 US / April 15, 2010 JP/EU

    Gametrailers: Video Preview

Been watching this for a bit, since E3 I think. I am kind of excited for it. I like the looks of the co-op for sure (check out the Dev. Walkthrough on Gametrailers for some gameplay with Co-Op) and I like the style they are using.

Seeing your objective as projected text on the surrounding environment (reminds me of Fringe, and they way they would toss up city names) and even grainy video of what an interrogated NPC might be talking about on walls is very cool.

Anyway, the demo is up on Live. I have played through it a few times changing how I went about it. Very fluid to me, very well done control wise and the Mark & Execute system works very well.

Check out the demo if you can, worth it I would say. Anyone else planning on renting/buying this?

Pre-ordered this game a long time ago. I've been a huge Splinter Cell fan for a long time. I've played all the games and everything. I kind of like the new pace of this game but still miss some of the old stealth they got rid of. Game is still gonna be great imo but some of the veteran players I think will be a little disappointed. Also hope they release some great DLC for this game.

The stealth seems pretty heavy to me, judging ONLY from the Demo. Was there even more in the past? I can't remember the last Splinter Cell game I played actually. I think I tried the last one but didn't like it for some reason. I should probably give it another look though.

Tried Realistic mode on the last few demo playthroughs, and it didn't seem too much harder. I noticed that you have to be closer to be able to use Execute, at least it seemed that way. Also the enemies take more hits to drop. Really like the graphics and the overall style of this game.

Older Splinter Cells were a lot slower (which i was a huge fan of). Idk maybe I'm nit picking too much but all I wanted was a Chaos Theory+1 ._. I had very high expectations for this game.

Not having played any of the Splinter Cell series, this demo was kinda meh. But the torture part on the bathroom was pretty badass.

So the collector's edition go knocked down to 70 instead of 80 since the included SC:C flash drives apparently have a high failure rate, lol

Seeing streams of a leaked/pitrated copies made me realize that this is NOT a splinter cell game at all.

Chaos Theory will forever be the best splinter cell game.

    Chaos Theory > *

And the PC version can go fuck itself thanks to their new DRM scheme that was introduced in AC2.

there's also a co-op campaign and multiplayer but the single player does sound kinda short.
If I weren't getting it for effectively 30ish I wouldn't be getting it now, but Amazon had it for 52, and a have a 15 dollar credit expiring in May and everything else I want is paid off, and I still had free Amazon Prime when I ordered it so seemed fair enough to me.

Yeah I know about the features of course and paying for multiplayer its most "interesting" feature now sounds awesome. I cant remember any of the other splinter cell's being this short. This game has been in development for almost 5 years and the campaign is only 5 hours? Like I said, I cant see dropping 60 bucks on this, but I'll get it for thirty in the fall, or maybe I'll luck up and get a free copy at E3.

bear in mind it has gone through huge shifts while it was in development, its not like the spent all those years working on only 5 hours of content. the original game stuff looked like Fugitive the game, this is something radically different. Not saying it justifies such a short campaign, but for the 30ish I'm paying, I think it's worth it, and I know I have people to do co-op/MP with.
