so............... what are the controls? I am stuck on Insert Coin and I pressed like every button on my keyboard and mouse several times. Do I need to use a joystick?

Was hoping this was windowable too >_<

Far as I've been able to find out so far.

5 = insert coin
0 = diagnostic mode (use at attract screen, let's you change settings)
Up, Down, Left, Right = Rotate Turret
L Mouse = Fire Weapon
R Mouse = Switch Weapon (Switches between Lasers, Photon Bolts, Particle Cannon)
L+R Mouse = DEATH BLOSSOM (only if enabled in settings)

I still haven't figured out the rest of the controls myself. But I've been able to get to around 1m, does this mean I get to go to Rylos nao?

Alright, apprently pressing 5 (not F5) is the "Insert Coin" portion and to start you press space bar which is also the same button to fire. Pressing 1 (not F1) changes the weapons which are listed on the left and right side of the screen. Move around with keyboard arrow keys.

Did a few rounds and kept getting destroyed at shooting the meteors portion. This would be easier with a joystick lol >_< Fun though for something this old would've been really nice back in the day.


Edit: rofl you finally answer as I replied but interesting you got mouse to work wasn't doing it for me. Least you gave the other buttons I didn't know XD

/bg/ is being good to me this week.

In any case, if you hit 0 for diagnostic mode, one option lets you alter the buttons, charge rates, etc. Just cycle through them.

Talk about games I wish had existed and never knew they did, this is the one.

Would I be able to change it so I can use the mouse to move the ship around and fire? Currently, the mouse just moves the target but I suppose I can use both the keyboard and mouse although it'll feel strange to me...

Tried freemode, you do die overtime but you take "a lot" more hits. Eventually beat the game in this way but damn it is hard as hell with the limited ammo and all and difficulty aiming with arrow keys. 2,141,000 score though lol... last boss you just unleash on but by then I was already out of ammo >> had to recharge/die once to get it back and continue >_<


Edit: I do have my old old joystick from the days of X-Wing and Tie Fighter for DOS. Think I have my microsoft joystick too back when I use to play X-Wing Alliance on msn zone. Be nice if I can use those again.
