    Farming spots

I found a nice early farming spot in chp5 to max out their stuff before moving on.

When you take control of Hope and Lightning in chapter 5 you're forced to go through some tough enemies. Once you reach the Research Corridor and go down the elevator you will see 6 Leeches there.

They give 156CP per kill and you can go up and down this elevator enough times to max out the current stuff to lv2 before moving on.

What other farming spots are later in the game?

Nice find, but it won't be necessary since by the time you hit chapters 8 or 9 you'll have so much shit available through the crystarium that you won't be able to keep up anymore, and will have to start specializing more. (each orb in the 6th tier is like 1000/1080 cp...)

I assume it will be very hard to farm and cap those until chapter 11 where you can finally free roam.

At end game (post end boss), I farm at:

    - Mid area in the big map, there are two mid-sized turtles (called shaoronguis in JP version) + a sabotender at the corner and you can simply rotate going from one to the other, to farm gold pieces/dark matter.

    - Go to that government area with the huge turtle right next to a save point, they give a platinum ingot/(that next level up from dark matter). So I'd kill it, if drop, save. If not, reset.

Chapter 7, in the Estheim residence. NO IDEA if anyone else caught this, but if you just stay in the house, soldiers keep coming in through the ceiling. I found that if they don't appear, just run around inside the house and bit and more spawn.

Fights don't last more than a minute with Lightning as RAV, Fang on COM, and Hope on RAV. The fights net about 160 CP... and at this point in the game, that's pretty decent.

    ^ This

Also since the rare drop off these buggers is an Incentive Chip which you can sell for 2500 gil it makes for an awesome spot to load up on gils and upgrade as well.

Since a savebook is right here anyways it's simply the best spot imo ,.. at least so far

CHP 8 near the clocktower are some of those small things that give 640CP per kill. To respawn them just run away the chest then return.

Enemies don't respawn once you get free roam? Why save/reset?

They sure do respawn for me! I'm in Mah'habara Earthworks in Ch. 11 and found a pretty good spot. It's a lolcorridor between these three packs of mobs that are extremely easy to get premptive strikes on, and they each give 1750 CP. So in the first pack you get 1750 CP because there's only one guy, 2nd pack you get 1750x2 cause there are two of em etc. so I just run back and forth and get lots and the fights take like two seconds. Plus if you mess up the preemp they're pretty easy fights anyway.

That one particular monster only respawn if you go farrrrrrrrrrrr away so it's actually better/more efficient to save/reset.

Chapter 9: Aboard the Palamecia. After you come back inside, you'll be in a long straight area with 3 groupings of soldiers. Behind those groupings is the door back to where you first landed. Zoning through that door resets the soldiers. Each group is about 450 CP and they drop Incentive chips quite easily, there is also a save point nearby.

I was just about to post this. I've been doing it for an hour now and have 34+ chips to sell.

One of the best places I've seen so far is in Chapter 11. Head near your initial destination and you will see a Behemoth King and a Megasomethingdog fighting. Every fight is a preemptive and every fight they both start with 50% health. Takes about 1min~1.5min for 6.6k CP.

This is very effective for farming CP

    I personally use
    Light - Com
    Sazh - Rav then Syn
    Vanille - Sab

Basically pop Behe king into stagger and go to town on a buffed up Light,.. slightly annoyed since my damage seems to cap at 99999 wont break that 100k mark. Anyways fight takes me about 30-40 secs for 6.6 K cp and just run back to just past the save book and they respawn.

Edit: Also theres a Cactuar that can be nearby and it drops a Cactuar Doll that sells for 12k,.. only does 1exp on upgrade and I dont believe there is any other use for that item.

I'm farming the Behemoth/Mag at the moment and my fight times are 15~17 seconds using Lightning/Fang/Sazh (com/com/com). Pretty fast for 6k CP.

i've been farming that for a little bit now, got about 120k~ total so far from those 2, fights for me are 1:10~ minutes long, using light/snow/hope, burn behe as com/rev/rev, then go rev/rev/rev on the mag til hes staggerred then kill as com/com/rev

how long were u farming that to get 15 second fights?

Within a couple of kills. I have upgraded weapons on Fang and Lightning (Omega/Glaive) and with an instant stagger thanks to pre-emptive strike it's really easy. You have to be quick with the Behemoth though or he'll heal. With Com/Com/Com one of your group will attack the Meg aswell keeping the chain gauge up.

Lionheart and I forget the Glaive one, I think it was just the default weapon that Fang has. I'm working on the side quests now to get a Dragoon Lance to upgrade.

I love this spot 13.2k CP every 10 seconds is so good!! I'm not sure there could be a better spot.
