Looking for a new Phone. Need help

So I am planning on getting a new phone and I want to have at least these things:

    - Smartphone (With Android)
    - QWERTY Keypad.

Now a friend of mine has the Samsung Moment and from what I have seen it is fantastic. People have been telling me to get the HTC Evo but I really hate virtual keypads and prefer the QWERTY keypad.

Im kind of compelled to buy the Moment but I am looking for other opinions. Thank you!

You will get by without a virtual keyboard actually.

The keyboard on the moment is spotty, has a cheap feel to it...... nothing like the keyboard on the droid or on blackberries.

Add on that the moment lacks multi-touch, and it no longer seems worthy of being called a "Smart phone"

    Seriously, just get the evo.

or wait until june 4th and get the EVO 4G if you dont NEED a hardware keyboard

Can't say I don't love my TP2. Runs everything fine and fast, same old reliable winmo with touchflo and all.

I'd love to pick up a EVO when I can this next March, but still I love my hardware keyboard. Plus at least during this period I can see how buggy the phone is (if its like the nexusones launch....)

Thanks for the help guys. I'm just a bit worried about the virtual screen (getting the screen all fucked up with my oily hands )

If you value Android more than the keyboard (I bought a Desire 4 days ago and the virtual keyboard is ok... I have big fingers and I can type somewhat fast with no problems)

You should get one of the last generation (with Qualcomm Snapdragon 1 GHz)
    -Google Nexus One
    -HTC Desire
    -HTC Evo
    -HTC Incredible
    -Samsung Xperia X10

N1 will get faster updates, HTC ones got Sense that is a pretty nice touch, the EVO is the only one with 4G, but all in all they're all about the same specs, with some changes like buttons, different cameras...

    nexus

the nexus is a very impressive phone got mine about 5 days ago, probably one of the fastest more responsive phones ive had to date. Minus the battery life (ie plugging it in at night) its amazing.

if you want a nice full keyboard switching most new phones over gives you a nice large digi keyboard which is always a bonus.

Well, I've boiled down my decision to the Moment or the Evo (after much convincing from my friend.) From the information I got from Best Buy:

Moment phone is free with a 2-year contract (70 dollars + Tax. 80 with insurance.)

Evo is 200 dollars with a 2-year contract (70 or 80 dollars for the plan.)

EDIT: One other problem is that if you buy the Evo phone AFTER June 4 the price jumps back up to 300 dollars, so keep this in mind.

One problem is that I have never had a credit card nor credit so the people at Sprint are charging me 150 bucks to activate one line. Now, my father is probably more than willing to use his credit to help me get the phone (either of them.) However, I feel very bad using his credit (if anything ever went wrong I probably would never forgive myself.)

For an estimate, I make around 12.5k a year (estimate) and I only pay for my Phone bills for right now. With the information I provided, what do you guys think would be the better choice? Thanks.

To be honest, that "Price jump" is bestbuy trying to fuck you over.

They want you to pre-order the phone, by claiming it will jump to $300 on the day its released. Phone is $200 for new plans/upgrade eligible, and thats directly from sprint...... no price jump on the phone happening.
