Being 24, and raised in an ultra conservative home, I have never really had any drugs around my life, until the past year when I've started to smoke pot.

Though, Im still getting use to the whole lingo thing. Any pointers or shit from you guys?

For instance, wtf is Sour Diesel, Hydro, Purple Kush, 20 sack etc.

sour diesel, hyrdo(hydroponic), and purple kush are different types of weed. hydro can describe a variety of different kinds, as hydroponic is a growing method for certain types of weed. don't really hear the term 20 sack around here, but i'm assuming it's probably 1/8 ounce of mid-grade.

$20 for 1/16.....that better be some good weed. i usually pay $15 for a blunt of the good stuff around here, $20 for 1/8 of mid-grade. it's mostly just mids in my area so i always buy a 1/4+ of the good shit when it comes around

Urban dictionary is your friend like they said. Can be a lot of slang out there that changes from area to area, although the names all generally mean certain things. What have you been smoking the last year?

And yea I mean if you wanna get to know this shit down pat (which most really don't)...there are two types of marijuana that pretty much all bud is composed some mix of the two, both of which have different effects: Indica (Body highs) and Sativa (mind high). Names mean nothing, if you know/trust your dealer then just get whatever he considers the best for the least (15-25 depending on how well he likes you) of the dank/dro/kush/bomb/good/etc (the quality highest tier of weed). Most dealers make up crazy names so that they can say they have the bombest weed.

As for the rest of the terms.. well most are just describing what category weed it is (high/mid/low), or quantities of weed(1/2/4/7/14/28g). They are mostly easy to match up what is what and the sizes normally refer to ounces at about 1/8 or 1/4 (7g).

This too. If you have the money and a lot of friends who smoke, buy ounces at a time and be that guy who "always has weed" for your friends. You dont really have to actively sell even, just when you smoke with friends and they have none, but have money, you can sell them a quick g.

If you do this, you can smoke quite a bit of weed for free, or even make money depending on how many friends that smoke you have.

Bought 2 ounces and it took me well over 7 months, since I got sick and couldn't burn for a while. Shit was a little dry but still very good even with a good 8 months lifespan. It can probably last longer than that too, I'll actually try to buy a 7g this week and keep it for like 2 years without touching it and see if it's still good after

As already answered above, hydro means hydroponics. It's a way of growing indoors, usually called Indo, Indonesia, etc.

There are really far too many strains out there to list in here, but I'll give you a short list of some common / uncommon bud you can get your hands on.

A lighter is your best friend. Multiple lighters is even better. Cheap BIC lighters are the usual suspect, but a lot of people don't like that butane aftertaste you tend to get so a lot of people are starting to use woodstick matches.

If you can't own your own pipe or bong, you can make some simple ones from common stuff. Apple pipe is the easiest.

You can also hotknife (stove top, put a butterknife between the coils at a diagonal angle, let it heat up and put your weed on and inhale that sucker)

You can go to smoke shops nearby, they almost always have a glass case area w/ pipes and smaller scale bongs. They usually range from $15-$60. A glass pipe is a must, a bong not so much, unless you have the space or you can find a decent smaller one. 18+ to buy 'em, no questions asked. (they're sold for "tobacco use" only)

If you're lucky you might have an actual SMOKE shop in the area that sells the real shit. But that's only if you get really into smoking and want to drop major monies. Papers you can buy from any convenience store (zigzags). For blunts you can just buy swisher sweets if you want, but if you want a better smoke just buy a $10 cigar, quality is way better.

Prices
Asking people what prices are "normal" will usually yield you bullshit results as prices are different all across the board. A $20 bag might get you $40 worth in certain areas, an ounce might cost $250 or $150, etc etc. It also depends on your dealer, whether he buys from someone in bulk and sells it himself, or if he grows it himself.

Just like in Pineapple Express, BECOME BEST FUCKING FRIENDS WITH YOUR DEALER, they will give you the best of the harvest, you'll get dibs on the newer shit before other people, you'll get smoked out for free on the last of a stash or maybe to test out some new shit, and you end up at some amazing fucking parties.

Hiding
Hiding weed is never that easy, honestly. I don't have that problem since I live on my own, but when I was still at my parent's place the smell was kind of hard to disguise. Wrapping it in paper bags, hiding it under the bed, in the closet, in a hollowed out book, all that shit will only work for a certain amount of time. All you can really do is buy it and smoke it.

Misc stoner knowledge
Bubblegum helps with cotton mouth. Apple juice tends to kill the taste in your mouth pretty well also. Visine is your best friend, carry it with you always. ALWAYS. The smell gets on your clothes and sinks in, it's not very easy to get rid of. Smoking outside helps a bit, but not much. You can just soak yourself in cologne or bring an extra shirt if you're paranoid or some shit.

Be wary of shake. This is the bottom of the bag shit. Fuckload of red hairs, grainy garbage. It's usually cheap so if you're broke it's better than nothin'.

If you have a grinder, there's usually a bottom chamber that gathers up the sexiest shit in all of weedland. KIEF. It's a fine fine fine green powder, burns really quickly, extremely smooth too. It sells for A LOT, and it's great to use when you're making butter.

Just a tip about masking the smell of the smoke/keeping it off your clothes: take the cardboard tube from toilet paper/paper towels, stuff a few of those fabric softener dryer sheets into the tube, exhale into the tube.
