Any way to start playing on the cheap?

I gave away my account close to launch date before I had to start paying subscription fees(less than 30 days in).

Looking into starting again. I see based on amazon prices that the game alone will be about $80 with another $40 around the corner with the new expansion. Is there a deal or combo pack somewhere that is more reasonable??

Nope. $40 for the first 2 games, then $40 for WotLK, and probably another $40 when Cata hits.

If you wanted to save some money, I'd get the Battlechest to start off with (first 2), and wait until Cata comes out to get WotLK, as the price is bound to drop.

Amazon.com shows $34 for the battle chest and $35 for Wotlk. $69 for the first 3 games isn't much. Tbh I saw the battlechest for sale in the uk for £10 so you can prolly find it cheaper than amazon somewhere.

It sucks yeah, but its definitely worth it. Besides I got to 69 in like 4 days, so I needed to have all expansions.

For some reason, I think Blizzard doesn't really care if you don't want to pay for their game or not.

They know if you're getting WOTLK it's because you like the game, so they're going to make you pay alot for it. The battlechest is cheap cause they want to attract new players to try it... when they get hooked they will be compelled to dish $40 for the expansion no matter what.
