XB360 Controllers on PC

Hey, I know this topic was covered before, but I can't seem to find it in the searches. I have a wireless controller adapter for PC, but I remember the Microsoft drivers didn't support the triggers correctly. Since getting a new computer, I haven't tried it yet.

When I did a search, it said drivers weren't needed for Windows 7. Anyone know if this is true? And I think I downloaded the Japanese drivers that worked before on Vista, but when I try to run it nothing happens. I'm going to mess with it in a bit when I get FFXIV running, but any help is appreciated.

$20 for a wireless adapter or $25 for a whole new wired controller + not having to worry about batteries.

All buttons/triggers are fully supported on 360 conrtoller (for wired at least) in FFXIV. There are some other games which support them as well. For everything else theres Xpadder.

Well I got the Adapter and Controller for free from my boss. I know the wired ones set up easier, but I don't always sit close enough for a wire lol. And I have rechargeable batteries and stuff so I'm not worried about the controller, just how to get it to work.

The drivers on Microsoft's site are avail at http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/do...ategory=Gaming

you just need to put in what hardware it's for, OS, etc.

I have 7, and downloaded them and it works with the exception of the triggers. The controller works for 14, but not sure if the triggers do or not. If 14 in fact does support triggers, you will most likely want to just get xpadder because microsoft's drivers are a pain in the ass to deal with.

I messed around with the wireless controller for months and was never quite satisfied, like others have said trigger buttons don't work right, and even using xpadder they are still not quite right. They are pressure sensitive so you really need a REAL driver designed for them so you get the same experience as you would on the console, the wired controller does work beautifully however.
