When I found this fence out god only knows how long ago, I immediatly called a GM to have him watch a normal monster path around the fence while I moved it in and out of the glitch spot. The GM was GM Qeepel, and he quoted the exact rule on this issue (he is a SGM if memory serves) is that if YOU STOP if the monster can freely come to you and attack, there is nothing wrong with what you are doing. If you stop and the monster is unable to get to you to attack (ie AV's wall of justice) you are breaking ToS. Even have a SS of the whole conversation if needed.

Usually it's someone who GM called you and not just some GM checking the fence of justice. It could be RMT who want a free nm (they'll cure you so it doesn't depop when your 5 minutes are up), an asshole, or someone you pissed off (I do it to one linkshell that complained about 500 gil abyssea chest items).

It would be pretty dumb of SE to crack down on pinning at this point. Without low man strats, old content would be even less worth doing. Almost as dumb as not demanding to speak with an SGM about the issue (and killing Krab during the delay).

Pinning exploits the SE's shitty pathing code. Using terrain to avoid AoEs exploits SE's shitty AoE damage code that doesn't account for vertical distance. Backing up against a wall when fighting a mob with knockback exploits the terrain to eliminate an element of the monster's TP move. Our strategic advantages are almost all "exploits." In my opinion, anything that I can do on PS2 isn't an exploit and if they didn't want it to be possible then it's a design flaw on their end. That said, they obviously don't agree with me because I got LM-17ed for disbanding alliances in Salvage.
