My friend has a Turtle Beach headset and his dog chewed through the cord with the USB plug on it. Is it possible to reattach and use it or is it a lost cause?

Can, they've only really got four wires in 'em. I would probably look more at cutting it cleanly and using a new plug or something though. Or contact Turtle Beach and see if they can sell the wire, since it's likely a matter of cracking the headset open and unplugging the cable from an internal PCB.
Solder iron, misc USB plug, some tape, 15 minutes
if it's one of those weird multiplug X360/PS3 headset, you'll have to find the right wires.
It's just yuor typical USB. If possible, i'd like to strip the wire and reconnect it without having to solder. I take it this isnt really your standard strip, twist, and electrical tape kind of thing, huh?
You could probably yeah, I'm just too used to soldering everything.
