    how can I obtain/burn a PS2 game. ;;

    I know, I know, pirating, bad me, etc, but in my defense, I already owned Final Fantasy X, and I can't find the CD anymore after months of searching. I think my brother pawned it off for drug money. (I'm serious -_-; )

    I want to know if there's a way to obtain the files for the game online, then burn it onto a disk and play it on my PS2. For free, because I currently have no money. >.<;

    Need to have a modded ps2, flip top, swap magic, etc. then you can easily download it(torrent etc, piratebay, isohunt) and then burn it.

    Ps2 Emulator and an .iso of the game works pretty well. (afaik there is at least one emulator out there that can run it)

    If you know someone with a modded PS2 and you have a PS1 game at your disposal, there is a very easy PS1 trick to boot hacked stuff.

    If you don't you're going to have to buy a swap magic or something, it doesn't cost much.

    How about running the game by emulating a ps2 on the comp? :s Cause I'm not joking about no money. I literally have nothing available to spend. not even a dollar.

    Seriously, not one mention of Free McBoot? Guys are like 5 years behind the time when it comes to PS2 modding. Flip tops? lol it's like a time-warp back to 2000.

    Find someone with it, all they do it copy it to your memory card, and then you have a hacked PS2 that can play burned games or games from HDD, as well as dozens of utilities of various use.

    On PSXscene there's a thread I believe for people who you can send your memory card to and have them put freemcboot on it.

    Worst case scenario I will do it for you if you desire, though list your PS2 model, works on all phats but only the early slims.

    Been a billion years since I last done it but I was obviously referring to this hack.

    Do you need a HDD to do it, and do you need to already have a modded ps2 to do that?

    Don't need a HDD or anything to run it, just need to check model to make sure it will work, as pointed above all fats and early slim will work. What you need a modded PS2 for is to push the initial hack in the memory card. (Friends, forums as pointed by Darus etc)

    You don't need a modded ps2 at all, if you have an action replay or other cheat device you can do it with that too.
    Hell, it can apparently even be done with a PSP AR Max too, lol.

    Also... if you know someone with free mcboot you can just easily have them copy it straight over to your memory card with no hassle.

    obligatory, this wouldn't have happened if companies allowed us to legally backup the games that we paid for.

    I wish it were that easy, but I'm a full time student staying with my parents, and no form of transportation for getting to work. And I was late applying to FAFSA this year, so I don't think I'm going to get any help there either. >.<; It's rather difficult living with no spending money, though not having to work is pretty nice too.

    And no, the nearest shops and nearest bus stop are miles away. <.<

    Oh I'm not a dick, I'm on your side, I just wanted to get that out of the way. It was inevitable, but I wanted the credit for it.

    inb4 I'm still an asshole.

    If you're going to play ff10, grab the european/international version.

    No, basically US and JP shared the same game, then they added Dark Aeons and other goodies in the Japanese International version, which in turn became the source of the EU version (has all european languages incl. english).

    tl;dr get the EU version

    It's consolation for them getting the game a year later than the Japanese (God that sucks so bad).
