iTunes question with my iPhone (backup procedures)

It occured to me that my machine might be dying. I have everything backed up, except one thing which I've heard horror stories about. iTunes library.

    I'll make it simple here:

    1. All my music is stored on a backup drive elsewhere with its own dedicated iPhone folder
    2. Nothing is purchased through Apple

I hear if people lose their iTunes on their machines, then the next time they sync, they lose pretty much everything on a fresh iTunes setup, as it contains... nothing.

How do I go about backing up my apps so I don't have to worry about grabbing them again? Everything else is fine but that.

If your stuff is all backed up then on the new itunes install you can just find the folder and import with np. As for the iPhone, when you connect it, if it tries to sync, cancel it, and right click the phone in the left tab and transfer purchases. That should put all your apps from iphone to the computer.

    At least, I think.

When I get a new game from the internet and for free on my iphone, and it syncs, the game gets deleted (AS WELL AS MY SAVED DATA FUCK YOU HAD TO DO 50 LEVELS OF CUT THE ROPE 3 TIMES) forcing me to install the app again. The next time it tries to sync I just cancel, and transfer purchases, this way all my apps I 'acquired' will pop into itunes with no problems permanently.

If you need to get your music off of your computer to put on a new machine, there are several ways to do this. CD's Flash drives etc, my most recent way of transferring music from Computer to New Computer was through my laptop. Took a while but I was running errands while I did it.

Share itunes library with multiple computers, transfer itunes library from computer to laptop, then laptop to new computer once it's built.
