    Leveling in WoW

So after years and years and years of playing WoW (and hating every moment of it) some how I mustard the ability to get two characters to 80.

Now, after forever long, I want another 80 but there's a problem. I cannot, for everything holy and the life of myself and everything I know, level another character in WoW. IT'S JUST STUPID.

    Any tips?

wait a week or two for shattering changes so that the 1-58/60 leveling experience is more streamlined / linear and probably just flat out more enjoyable? Not all zones will be obviously changed, like Draeni and BE 1-20 experience probably wont be touched, but that's what I'm doing.

Do it. Leveling in wow shouldn't even be an issue anymore.

You always have quests to do, can que for random dungeons 24/7, should have 2/3 pieces BOA.

Nothing is stopping you from doing it, other than your lack of motivation and excuses.

Just wait to level this character till Cataclysm. That way you'll have plenty of things to do.

I did that with a druid without heirlooms(before faction change was added). Seconding what everyone else said, leveling is a breeze, wait til after the shattering. Profit.

It's changing the world for Cataclysm. Revamped old world, leveling changes, class/race combos; that stuff.

The primary change is that the flow for the first 60 levels will be more intuitive. No more going from Hinterlands -> Feralas -> Hinterlands for quests, and in particular an Alliance-like zone flow for the first 20 levels of non-BElf Horde characters. In other words, Northrend-style levelling is coming to the rest of Azeroth.

Also, instance quests, if they stay the way they are on Beta, are a guaranteed level's worth of exp, if not two level's worth once all the required mobs are dead, AND the start/return NPCs are at the instance portal rather than scattered across 6 zones and locked behind a multi-step quest chain.

And the quests are better than ones in northrend even, at least the ones i've done. Some quests survived though, such as a good portion of Northern Barrens is recycled old world quests, although locations of objectives may have changed. Other zones are completely revamped, such as Azshara, which is awesome, and Stonetalon Mountains where, on Horde side anyway, only 1 vanilla quest survived. There are also multiple areas to level up now, so you can choose to level up through a different route each time you level a character. Zone leveling flow can be found on Wowhead.

In addition, there are some unique quests that incorporate raid mechanics into the quests. I've heard there are multiple, but the only one i ran into during my limited low level beta questing was in Northern Stranglethorn that took place in ZG. There are also several in Deepholm once cata launches. Its really mind boggling with how much effort they put into the new 1-60 experience.

I don't understand how someone that leveled jobs in ff11 can hate leveling in WoW, but yea wait a bit for cataclysm changes, it'll be more easy than already is.

I ran druid tank and my friend ran druid heals to 80 recently. We chain queued dungeons all the way to 80. We got a level every 15-20 minutes until 50, then it was a level an hour until 60, then it was pretty much two hours per level from 60-80.

I believe two new +5% exp BOA pieces are coming out in Cata, and there's a +5% experience BOA ring from the Kalu'ak fishing derby if you can manage to win it(good luck), add that to the +10% chest and shoulder pieces and you've got +35% experience gained which should make the process a lot quicker.

dungeon running is good at lower levels, but i found when i hit Northrend recently that it was quicker to just quest. This is coming from somebody who ran dungeons as a tank and got instaques all the time. No idea how it will be in cata but i hope dungeon xp is nerfed a bit so people can actually see the new quest content.

once you get to northrend, you should do questing mixed with BG spamming on holiday weekend. I know on my druid that I leveled during AV weekend, I would get about 5-7 bars of xp per AV win. A loss was like... 2-3 bars, I think.

even at lower levels BG holidays are awesome for xp. WSG wins can give you like a lvl per as can AB wins. It's insane

yep, much faster to quest grind or there are some grind spots in northrend where people claims to have leveled many toons to 75+, northrend dungeons are dull and slow after grinding them for a million times.

The thing about the new leveling experience is not only is it easy, but it is really a lot of fun. On the beta, I quested through the entirety of stonetalon, a place I avoided like the plague on live. It was so much fun! It was way better than northrend leveling even. Pretty much all the quests in the entire zone were tied together, as in each zone has a storyline(that i've experienced so far).

This zone has some pretty important story elements for the horde, in that you get to see a different side of Garrosh Hellscream. If you really don't like him, I promise that after doing all the quests in this zone, you'll have a different opinion of him.

All the new zones are even BETTER. The goblin starter zones are HILARIOUS, and they have some really fun quests(not to mention that from 1-6 you get a fancy hot rod to drive around in.)

Even at such low levels, you feel like your character is doing important things that are making an impact, and not running off to go get 10 monkey scrotums for some dude to cook up because he's hungry. There are still a few quests like that, but most are not.

Also, there is one questline in the badlands(another place I avoided) that you definitely have to check out. The Day Deathwing Came. So. Funny.
And If you're a fan of Plants vs Zombies, there's a quest in hillsbrad near where Dalaran used to be that is as close to the real game as you can get in WoW.

The bottom line is, the quest team really pulled out all the stops this time around. They definitely made an amazing questing experience throughout all of Azeroth.

another important thing to note is that Bliz did a really good job of putting War back into Warcraft. Instead of fighting some random animal, quilboars, raptors, or ogres, you fight forces of the alliance or horde. For example, the questing experience on horde side in kalimdor has you fighting night elves repeatedly through stonetalon mountain. And then when you reach Southern Barrens, you repel down a cliff with some rope to steal supplies from the alliance base there. HOW FUCKING AWESOME IS THAT?!

Horde and Alliance also repeatedly are sent to the same area for quests also, so if you're on a PvP server, expect to often run into fights.
