midtown is a mess, it's been days since the blizzard and still the drifts are piled high and there's a puddle of dirty run-off a foot deep and two feet out from every corner and crossing. it's hard to get into the subway at some stops and frankly dangerous since the stairs are coated in slush and ice and packed snow. I can't imagine what it's like in the boroughs, the city made clear during those summer blackouts that they don't give a fuck. I had to go to tkts yesterday and even in times square they have the snow piled in icy mountains by the sidewalks, six, seven feet tall with little tourist children climbing on it like a fucking jungle gym
I sound like the cranky bitchy west sider I am but fuck, with the insane taxes we pay you'd think we could get a little civic service and plowed streets DAYS after the storm...
