    Switching audio outputs on PC

Hey, my PC is currently setup to output audio to the regular speakers, to my TV via HDMI, and my USB headphones (G35)

But right now, I need to change the audio settings before I open whatever program I want to run, otherwise the audio doesn't change. I'd love to be able to throw a Youtube clip on the TV, watch it, and then switch back to PC without having to open and close the browser each time so that the audio output changes.

Not sure if this'll help, but if you right click on the volume icon in the bottom right corner, hit "playback devices," and hit the HDMI device and hit "set default" it changes it right away. Not sure if this is convenient for your setup though, I'm on windows 7.

Thats what I'm doing now to change my outputs. But for example, if I'm listening to Itunes, it will continue to output to whatever it was previously until I close and re-open the program.

    And I'm on Vista.

Win7 works without having to close/open the program again about 90% of the time. Vista has some issues with it. No way around it afaik.

As for changing the default sound device without having to use the control panel function, I made apost about that a few weeks ago if you search, a few people provided some small tools that allow you quickly change through taskbar, but I ended up just shortcutting the control panel sound option and doing it manually each time.
