Network Controller Missing Driver

So I have this sony vaio VGNCS320J and it won't find any networks around it. I checked the device manager and it showed the network controller doesn't have any drivers installed and has no name for it either. Under the network adapter it shows a Marvell Yukon ethernet card and I tried to update the driver on that thinking it would help but didn't. I tried just uninstalling the ethernet card and reinstalling but that also didn't help. Any suggestions?

Usually I'd say visit the manufacturer of your notebook for drivers, but I can't find your model on Sony's support site. That's the right model number for sure?

I tried that driver and got it on the laptop but when it installed it said it was for windows vista only......... but I am running windows vista!

Vista 64-bit? You could try the Windows XP driver or the Windows 7 driver if its 32-bit vista.

Derp router reset then had no dsl, anyway, unzipp both drivers somewhere in your pc, go to device manager, delete the device, reboot the computer, wait for windows to detect the new device, use either driver (preferably the windows 7 one), or use the hardware wizard to add it.

Neither one of those files are able to be unzipped. They are both setup files that run by themselves


edit: Also just making sure which driver I should be downloading..... It should be the marvell ethernet driver right? Would that solve the network controller missing driver or should I be downloading something completely different.

http://www.marvell.com/drivers/drive...o?driverId=175 for the installer try this one first, without reboot. Else try the unzip, delete, reboot with the above file.

Errr.... both of those links are installers.

lol ._. what happened to good old zip files, ok then
Delete the device in the device manager
reboot computer
IF windows asks to install a driver for some unknown whatever device, cancel that and use the installer.
Otherwise, use then installer from the get-go

Did both and neither worked would it help if I said that I get internet if I use an ethernet cable but wireless won't pick up any signals?

I knew that much , I did however overlook that the driver for your wireless card was listed under wireless in the sony website

nope shit sucks could it just be that the card is bad?

Unlikely, though it can happen, you can also try and download the driver directly from intel, they should have the most up to date version for a windows vista 32bit system.
