    Can't install Office 2010 on server 2003

I have a windows 2k3 Server at home (enterprise SP2) and it works fine, but i tried to install Office 2010 business on it and, it installes it to 75% then it goes back and uninstall everything and then pop an annoying error

'The installation encountered an unknown error'.

If i install that CD on another 2k3 server it works fine.

Also i am able to install other programs including Office 2003 and 2007.

When i go check in the event viewer all it says is Office 2010 removal is successful.

    Anything ot help me?

are you installing the x86 version? it looks like that's the only one supported on Win2k3 (regardless of the OS version)

    Windows Server 2003 SP2 (32-bit or 64-bit) and MSXML 6.0 (32 bit Office only)
    from http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/l.../ee624351.aspx

Could be your optical drive. Copy the files to another machine in your network and copy them over the network to the 2003 server, then try installing.

Call Microsoft. They will give you phone support to diagnose the issue.
