    Headphones pop sometimes till restart

My setup is Headphones > USB DAC/AMP > PC and once in a while I get a crackling sound in my phones, and at first I thought it was associated with lag. I have a pretty beast pc, so I shouldn't have issues like this, but after a few hours of game+music+chrome it sometimes causes a crackling sound that I first notice over voip like ventrilo.

I've ran over this cord a ton of times, and have been planning to get a higher end pair of phones for blackfriday/chistmas, but is there any reason why the crackling goes away if I restart my computer? When I say goes away, I mean its gone for hours, if not the entire day.

Its onboard sound but should be no need for a soundcard being a USB DAC/AMP. Higher end mobo as well. But the amp goes through a usb.
