[NSFL] Syrian Civilians and Medical Personnel Under Attack

Didn't see anything about this on BG, if there's a thread please delete this one.

Anyway, shits been getting crazy over there the last few days, particularly in Homs, and it doesn't appear to be getting that much coverage over here (not that I watch US mainstream media much though... maybe it has been).

Some are saying it's Assad (govt leader) fighting/slaughtering the "rebels" and civilians, and others (including some Syrians and the Syrian govt) say it's agents provocateurs/terrorist trying to incite violence and civil war to give a plausible enough reason for NATO to "give them democracy". It seems China and Russia may believe there is some truth in the latter theory since they both vetoed the UN resolution to seek Assad's resignation and turning over the government (ala Egypt).

Admittedly this sounds a little "out there", but the US does have a history of that kind of shit (Cuba) so you can't really rule it out. Regardless of who it is attacking them, the Syrian civilians (who seems to be taking a lot of children casualties), medical personnel, and hospitals are getting massacred.

I expect it'll be plastered all over the mainstream here soon because the US is calling to sidestep the UN outcome and start a coalition. He also apparently just froze all of Iran's USA assets (via Executive Order) so there is that on top of it. Wonder what path the US is going to take with this. I'm gonna guess it ends up Libya style.

That brings me to the NSFL part... I don't recommend you watch it if you are faint of heart/stomach. This kind of thing needs to be seen even though it's tough to watch though. There are tons more of videos like this around YouTube and live streaming sites. Shit is awful. :(

jesus fuck why didn't I believe you? I think that may literally be the most NSFL video I have ever seen. I'd offer up some political discourse on the tragedy of Homs but all I can think about now is whether or not I'm going to vomit.

at first I thought the blood had soaked through his bandana, then I realized the "bandana" was his face hanging off.

I think China/Russia are just playing their own game in the ME, just like us. They aren't taking a moral stand. Didn't we use to take people to Syria to get tortured (the Syrian intelligence did the dirty work).

Nobody gives any kind of credence to the Syrian govt's story, certainly not China/Russia.

They barely dare use it as plausible deniability, lest they be laughed out of the room.

What looks to be a 15 year old Syrian boy missing the entire lower half of his jaw/face (tongue, teeth, jaw... everything cept a bit of skin flap hanging against his chest flat) weeping and "screaming" but still 100% aware and moving around. I think that's what bothers me the most is he is still alive, and like, chillin on the fuckin patient's bed kicking his feet back and forth for a short time and it just looks so wrong... Well, that and his "screaming" at the same time. Fucking terrifying honestly I can't image something like that or living in a place like that. I don't think anyone would seriously think otherwise, but I heard the boy died shortly after these videos were filmed.

They are saying the reason they are getting these "peeled" and explosive type wounds is because they are being shot at with explosive ammo (ofc there are also tank, jet rockets, mortars and sniper rifles shooting at them). Going to post a video supposedly showing "evidence", but again, shit is mad NSFL. Sadly, this video below is from April of last year so this has been going on for quite some time.

    NSFL...

I added this facebook group a long time ago to receive status updates on the situation there. I can't understand it at all, but i do see the pictures, and a lot of them have been gruesome. Just yesterday i saw a picture of some kid with his jaw blown off.

Anyway, like the facebook page at your own discretion:

By the way, if a coalition sprang up to attack Assad's regime, i would probably go along with it.

I got no horse in this race (the who is attacking for what reason debate), I'm just throwing out the situation since it seemed no one had heard about much about this on here. No fair if I don't report both sides of the story, and even civilians in Syria are claiming it's foreign involvement starting things and reportedly have been holding demonstrations defending Assad. Who knows in the end, there is way to much information unknown to us to make a real claim as to which is the true situation. May find out in 30 years or so when some documents get unclassified somewhere.

Any kind of credibility the Syrian govt might've had, they lost when they killed that journalist a few weeks ago and tried to frame "terrorists" for it.
Al-Assad is going full retard with crazy stories, as did Kadhafi before him.

Edit: there really is little coverage of Syrian events in the US?

Every time I've switched it through the news channels trying to see something they've been talking about dumb shit like Super Bowl or GOP caucus or w/e else they have going on. I usually give it ~30 mins and give up and go back to looking for streams online. If they are airing stuff it's not very good coverage and not in heavy rotation.

No, of course not. I mean, that i would be in support of a coalition attacking Assad's government. As in, i agree that they probably should do that, because i don't know how anyone is supposed to put up with this kind of savagery.

    wat

Russia and China don't believe in whatever conspiracy theory internet marxists posts on the Lenin message board they vetoed the resolution because they do not believe in a people's right to self-determination, foreign involvement in domestic affairs on humanitarian grounds, or even the notion of popular protest. Taken to a logical conclusion any support of those rights would be a tacit acknowledgment of the illegitimate and immoral actions those nations have taken in Chechnya and Tibet, among others.

The resolution China and Russia vetoed wasn't even drafted by western powers it was originally drafted, and most energetically pursued, by the Arab League.

Bashar's father Hafez al-Assad was also a murderous cunt who faced massive uprisings which no one pretended were some shadow surrogates of the United States. The fundamental fault line in Syria is that a secular Shiite minority has ruled over a more religious Sunni majority with a brutal and intractable iron gauntlet for forty years and whatever desperate propaganda the increasingly unstable regime throws out about foreign agents fomenting dissent should be laughed at for the garbage it is.

Syria doesn't even have oil, they don't have WMDs, they aren't strategically situated geographically, and they have ceased their actions against Israel; the west doesn't give a fuck about or have a geopolitical interest in their country which is why no one has done anything despite the fact that Assad's crackdown has been far more brutal than Mubarak's or Gaddafi's.
