Modify previous text from a poster if you want, but it would be better if you're not lame and totally replace it all, but again, there's only one rule so do it if you really want.

If someone posts a continuation of the same post you quoted, both are fair game and can be continued as unique branches of the story.

Deus ex machina, The End, characters back from the dead, personal attacks, all fair game (since once again, no rules except the only rule) but be advised "The End" can be easily disregarded (but ideally addressed that this has been done so for continuity)

As they were going in to Jim's house, The End met Jim's parents and was introduced to them, "This is The End. My only friend: The End." Mr. Morrison said, "Goddammit son, why do you talk like that? Why don't you just burn that damn guitar like that flamer Jimi Hendrix."

"A.S. Harris to Geostation 17," he said into his transgalactic communicator. "Polar orbit established. No sign of resistance so far..." But before he could sign off a bluish particle beam flashed out of nowhere and blasted a hole through his ship's cargo bay. The jolt from the direct hit sent him flying out of his seat and across the cockpit.
