Motorcycle group vs. Asian dude in an SUV

Big motorcycle rally in NYC, they drive around a black Range Rover with an Asian family inside - one of the bikers "brake checks" him after cutting him off, causing the SUV to tap the guy's wheel. They end up forcing him to stop and trying to open his car door, so he takes off, plowing into a couple bikes and one biker getting his leg broke. All hell breaks loose, they chase him down, pull him out of his car and beat the shit out of him and his car.

If I was the SUV, I never would have gotten off the highway and would have kept driving until the cops showed up.

I'm an advocate for legalized lane sharing across the country, and I too agree that these bikers were all assholes. Stop hogging the road, you bunch of cunts. It isn't as if there aren't plenty of resources that tell people how to perform group rides properly.

What I heard is that they slashed one of his tires when he first stopped, and that's why he eventually got off the highway as it went flat.

The guy who took the video is fully cooperating with the police. It's not like there is some 500-member biker gang solidarity there, I'm sure plenty of the riders aren't anarchistic assholes.

Wow. Crazy part is that one of the police precints was maybe 5-6 blocks away in one direction while a hospital was another 5-6 blocks away. If he knew where he was going, he probably would've been able to make it to safety.

Yeah...I saw this earlier today. I am a rider myself and you can be damn sure I would not have given those bikers the opportunity to get close enough to hurt me or my family. They caused the accident then escalated it very quickly. Their actions were irresponsible and criminal. It was very clear within seconds that these bikers were out to hurt this guy. At that point, I would have hit the gas and not let up until police arrived. If they tried to "box me in" like they did to this guy, fuck them and the bike they rode in on. They are going to eat asphalt. I would not hesitate to run over any and all of them to protect myself and my family. I am confused why he got off an exit though. He was much safer on the freeway where they could not corner him.

Bicyclists are fucking morons up in this bitch too. Like they cut you off, they don't give a fuck. I'd shit my pants if I ever attempted to cut off a 3,000 pound vehicle. Is it even legal to ride the bike in the middle of the streets w/o any bike lanes?

The street is the only legal place to ride a bike, bike lane or no.

Bike lanes are only in place where they're considered particularly necessary.

Hope this doesn't wind up getting everyone off topic but in Austin it's actually illegal for bicyclists to be on the sidewalk. Here though half the people that ride bikes constantly break the law by running red lights and the other half that drive don't want to share the road. It makes things interesting.
