    Here we discuss things of Christmas Future.
    What are your hopes, thoughts, and fears of the possibilities of XIV?

    Whats going to happen with cape increases? Caps on old dungeons? How far are they going to extend ilvls out? What kind of new skills/magics will they add? Additional subjob abilities? More jobs? Dungeons? Areas? Duty Finder? RMT? Farming? Mounts/Minions? Inn tweaks? When will we be able to slay fanir for his ridills?

    Etcetc.

    Classes that can equip secondary weapons to help unlock 2nd jobs. Like Lancer can eq a Katana to work towards Samurai or some shit. I dunno. Just feels too much like base XI before Zilart.


    edit: Leves need to give more xp at lower levels

    I hope they tone down the levels you acquire cross-class skills tbh. Leveling to upper 30's just for a single cross-class skill doesn't sound like fun to me.

    I kind of feel like they could be a bit more restrictive about changing between two jobs on a single class (ACN).

    They better nerf FATE or boost dungeon exp to make dungeons give the best exp.

    Also DF metagame/community improvements (being able to friend list from another server would be huge...) and of course as many new economic incentives as they can put out so it doesn't stagnate.

    In no particular order, my wishlist :

    1) AUTO-SORT FUNCTION NOW GODDAMMIT. I don't want to wait for 2.1, it needs to be here now.

    2) Samurai/Ninja/Thief/Dancer/Red Mage, not necessarily in that order. Also other classes/jobs. Do not need to be 11 ones, just new and interesting and exciting.

    3) More than 2 tank and 2 healers. (see above)

    4) More expansion of the Hunting Log, really like that. Less FATEs. More dungeoning (not necessarily more dungeons) so people learn how to play their jobs instead of DPS fulltime as tank without ever casting Flash or cast Medica at the start of the fight.

    5) This is a long shot, but some way to replay the 1.0 story if possible. Like some kind of "Crystal of Memory" or "Akashic Recollections" or something. I can read about it on the Net but that's not the same.

    Events that can only be done with an organized group from your server and have limits to how often you can do them.

    Seriously duty finder is shit I want them to encourage linkshells and socializing.

    After wow got the dungeon finder communities went to shit.

    I've seen a JP one on my server (Tonberry) shouting in Ul'Dah. Does that count?

    I agree with Coil and Titan basically being "non-DF group" content though. That's, IMHO, pretty much what it is.

    3. Dismissing my choco to ride mount is annoying.
    (Also not being able to duty find with it out sucks)

    4. The auto translate seems limited compared to ffxi ... Although there's almost no need for it these days.

    5. Not being able to /vote to kick some scrubs in duty finder blows.

    Hmmm...

    1) More mounts that also double as a companion pet like the current chocobo implementation. It's more of an looks thing though, I don't care too much if they are merely sprite swaps but to have your Courel, unicorn, goobue or magitek to run around slapping things for you would be quite neat. Or make them all the same but let me choose what tree they specialise in, so I can call my chocobo for an attacker, my magitek for a tank, my goobue for a healer, my courel for everything, etc

    1a) I won't mind more cross-game content, i.e. a Maka Reactor/Shinra Tower raid

    2) Make paladin more ... Paladin. Besides the gear, current implementation feels dull given the abilities. Let me spread rainbows, lights and shit.

    3) Dark Knight - great sword only!

    4) Dual Wield!!!~~

    5) Cloud/Sephiroth costume

    Only my 1st and 1a suggestion was serious. The rest is somewhat more of a dream.

    I liked having a Scythe on DRK. Looked badass.

    As for point 2, this goes for all classes.
    AF right now, is just stats. Nothing Job exclusive other than the primary stats.
    It's the same with relic, which is basically just an AF weapon in this game. (Don't start on this, I understand that Relic here isn't Relic in XI)

    Just saying, I hope they add something like set boni or atleast job specific abilities to job specific gear.

    The clearly want to keep gear and stats as simple as possible, there's still a ton of basic shit that needs fixing, people running out of content already, and a huge demand for more classes/jobs.

    Making things any more complex and the already iffy class balance will go right to hell.

    I remember them hinting at that long ago (people of course were asking immediately when they saw the concept art) and they said yea sure.

    Knowing SE, they see the brief sequence in the Prae battle as delivering on that promise, which is of course not at all what people had in mind.

    3. Definitely need a couple of new jobs. I played smn for almost 10 years in XI, but for some reason I hate it in this game. I have been picking up classes in this game that I would never have picked up in XI. Them adding pup or bst as a tank would make my day though.

    2. PLEASE more gear variety. Especially adding stats that effect specific abilities (range, potency, added effect, something!).

    1. Materia: While I agree that there were lots of materia types in 1.0 that never saw the light of day, I think we need more variety of materia that will do some unique things to gear. If all additional effects in gear were handled through the materia system, it would add more customization and uniqueness the gearing and crafting process. (additional "element" damage on weapons, or damage spikes on armor pieces. Also miss the "element" damage boost materia from 1.0)

    They have a lot of room as far as materia and armor stats go to create a really robust and customizable armor system in the year to come. I'd hate to be playing next year and still have only basic stats on gear.
