Advent Saga is a Digital Tactical Card Game (DTCG) that combines the excitement and traditions of popular card games, with the strategic, all-out war elements of Tactical RPGs. Utilizing a 4x4 battlefield for deep new possibilities in combat and maneuverability, Advent Saga gives players deeper control of their actions and strategy than traditional CCGs. It is a science fiction epic, putting the player in the position of battling for galactic control while unraveling the mystery of how the war began.

Pro-Gen Studios is an independent development group comprised of designers, artists, developers, and writers with backgrounds in MMOs, fighting games, and traditional tabletop games. What exactly are the differences between the recruit/lieutenant/captain booster packs?
(Was also going to ask about the starters, but I figured out the recruit are monocolor while the dev are multicolor.)

The tiers seem pretty fair, it's good that each one comes with the exact same value of igc.

Seriously, Rykoshet (if you're on these forums, you better as hell know who he is) knows what he's doing when it comes to strategy. He's the Lead Designer of the Gameplay for this game, so I don't have any doubt that it will incredibly fun and incredibly deep.

Apparently the game went over amazingly with people that played it at PAX East.

I'm pretty sure Zounder's involved too (used to post a bit), and Pat/DD7/whatevernameheusesnow/Tsu-somethingtoomanyletters is somewhere in the mix but not 100% sure. Zealot also.

Game's on basically every platform that matters in terms of having access to it.

I'm not really a card game guy and haven't tried playing this myself, but Ryko demo'd this game about 20 feet from my stream station at UFGTX and every time I passed the table there were people playing it; all of the Chicago people who tried it said it was a bunch of fun.

I played a good number of sets while at UFGTX and plan on swinging by a few times while on break at EVO to get my fix. The game plays absolutely solid.

The boosters differences are sheer number of cards and the spreads between common, uncommon, rare, and above. 6/9/12 with one rare in the first, with up to 4 in the third.

Neither of those are references. Antillium particle would just be a vague similarity. The references lie in the card names, flavor text, and abilities.

Not all of the cards have it though, I'd say less than a third. We referenced Nsync, Poison by Bel Biv Devoe, Archer, Gundam Wing, various comics, just the things we've grown up with.
