Effective as of this morning.

After evaluating our position in the games market, we've decided to shift LucasArts from an internal development to a licensing model, minimizing the company's risk while achieving a broader portfolio of quality Star Wars games. As a result of this change, we've had layoffs across the organization. We are incredibly appreciative and proud of the talented teams who have been developing our new titles.

Unless I am mistaken, most of the good (hah) Star Wars games were licensed. Most of the LucasArts games have been shit tier for years.

Echoing this. Their games were fun when it was just a licensed product, but nearly everything the company has done internally is terrible and only sells because of the IP.

the last game lucasarts developed internally I believe was the force unleashed 2, everything else was outsourced
dont get me wrong, TFU and TFU2 were by no means perfect, but they were actually pretty good games, just they were 2 games that should have been 1 because they were both kinda short as hell. Take that kind of game and hand it to say platinum games or capcom or maybe even SEGA and you could whip out a nice quality single player game and maybe throw a multiplayer arena hilarity in there ala jedi knight dark forces
find out who makes the aerial combat games, have them do xwing vs tie fighter reborn, let gearbox or turtle rock studios build a first person shooter, or a sequel to the fantastic republic commando (moment of silence for my boy Sev)
have namco do a 3d fighter, use one of the studios they own to build a new battlefront game
just keep shit out of the hands of EA, they only seem to fuck things up these days

The real concern is the limbo in which venerated licensed properties now hang. You will likely never get another TIE Fighter game, for example, unless it's on your phone.

the lets dance craze died a lot faster than the rock band craze and everybody and their mother was fooling around with the motion control shit
lets not forget that at least the dance game was 10x more entertaining than star wars kinect
