Finding Faults Quest

Forgive me if this is covered in the Quest Discussion thread, but I didn't see it if it was.

Has anyone been able to figure this quest out? Near as my LS mates and I can gather you need to check a ??? in the zone of whatever monster you chose (Mt. Zhaloym for Trolls, Mamook for Mamool Ja, etc), and it pops a NM.

If we're right I figured out where the ??? is for Trolls, but we have no clue for the other races. Those of us that flagged this quest were gonna go work on it after our Dynamis run finishes.

The Troll one is easy. Just escape in Halvung and it brings you right to it.

This quest gives you imperial standing. 200 for getting one right, dont know how much for both right.

Trolls are slow and ? I had to guess, don't know what else they are weak to since I kited and nuked NM and puppet.

Cool thanks Janice, that's what we figured. Any one have any ideas on the Mamool or Lamia ones?

Mamool: enter mamook through eastern entrance in Wajaom, exit through south mamook to Wajaom again, ??? is in a huge open area there, only accessable through mamook (it's up a ledge).

One of the mamook weaknesses is a certain element, one that it is NOT is a certain WS.

when i used a blade jin on the NM it got intimidated, so i said slow and weak to certain ws

The Mamool NM got got intimidated when i used Dancing Edge, but since you said the answer was NOT a certain ws, i chose "a weapon skill used from a certain angle" as well as "a certain element". I won't know the result until later.

This quest seems to be repeatable every week (at conquest tally). Also, near each ??? there seems to be a "Peculiar" target that moves around. Clicking it lets you have some kind of effect on the mob that you pop.

i found out that they arent sluggish, but are weak to a certain weapon skill

I intimidated a Mamool Ja for apperantly no reason as RDM/BLM (was the NM for the Two-Horns quest) while meleeing with Joyeuse, wearing no abj. gear, using Sole Sushi. I don't think I was wearing anything special that gave me any killer effects and RDM/BLM don't get any natively.

Did you use a WS on it from behind? I play THF, and the second i did SA+Dancing Edge it was initimidated like nobody's business, it could barely touch me.

This quest can be done once a tally. Going to do the Halvung one again.

So what are the two things that Trolls are weak too? I didn't get a single intimidation when I fought and we had pretty wide pallet of jobs when we went there.

Lots of mobs are glitched.

And elemental weakness is not one of them.

I did this one as well, and got the exact opposite results as you.

It said the certain element was incorrect, and the certain WS was correct.

This quest is repeatable after each tally (jp midnight Sunday). And each week, the answers are different.
