I’m glad they scraped the boomerang controller model. The new one looks pretty cool.

But... wait, wait... I've seen this design before...

http://images-eu.amazon.com/images/P...2.LZZZZZZZ.jpg http://i3.ebayimg.com/01/i/04/cb/c0/0d_2.JPG Ohh, right, it's the same one used on the last two PlayStations!

    If it ain't broke?

The new controller will be wireless using Bluetooth. That's pretty fucking sweet.

If I buy one, it will be the expensive one. I plan on making it the center of my entertainment system. I could really use a new DVD player, and I'm sure this system will be around well past 2010. I just hope there aren't any production problems.

No! You're clearly missing that they changed the analog buttons look!

Doesn't that movie explain that the new button in the middle of the controllers controls a Z axis so the controller is a good improvement over the past ones without the consumers having to get used to a new design?

Still doesn't have the functionality of motion sensing that the Wii controller has. Plus it doesn't have rumble at all. Don't get me wrong I'll get one when the price drops about $300 if all the best (non-Nintendo) games come out for it, I mean I own PS1 and PS2. It's just not an interesting design, it's the same design. No real originality, no new ways to play. It's the PS2 with better graphics and a storage medium that no one's sure will catch on. :\ I think I read recently either on the web or in the paper that when asked if people were interested in HD-DVD/Blu-Ray most people weren't ready to give up DVDs yet. I'm hesitant.

Gawd, why would they just continue to improve upon the best systems made, ever, period? I mean cmon they really need to fix what's not broken, like the controller that pretty much set the standard for what video game controllers should be, and is still and probably always will be the most popular controller design of any.

The real reason no Rumble for PS3 controller is that there is a company who owns the rights for rumble feature in controllers

It has like all 5 patents/copyrights

I saw on G4 or somewhere gaming wise that this guy has patents (holding onto to them, he put them on paper or named them and has rights to them) to certain technologies that could benefit the PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii and make the games look ridiculous, but he wants like millions of dollars

I will be getting PS3 first day, hell if it sucks, well I will know not to trust Sony whole-heartedly

    It's a gamble, PS3 = 600, most can afford it

How much you think people are kicking themselves in the ass for buying flat Plasma TV (whose TV life is 5-10 years), where as LCD can go for 15-20+, and better technology = $$$$$$ in the beginning, but it always drops

I went from NES > Sega > Genesis > CD > 32x > Saturn (Oy!!!) > PS1 > PS2 (Current, Original Generation gonna be 7 years old this January) > Xbox (Sold it, played maybe 10 hours) > PS3 (Next in line, saved $950 already for it) [Gonna splurge a little]

Maybe Wii when SuperSmash Bros. pops on it for giggles

Everyone knows Sony's controller sucks for 2d fighters like SFs and KOFs, Saturn's controller ftw. For everything else, I prefer the Cube's design. Putting the digital pad which nobody ever uses at the top and making my thumb stretch for the analog and my hands looking unsymmetrical is stupid.

I agree kinda, all the consoles controllers suck for 2D fighters (KoF sucks) cause they all hurt like hell, yet I find the PS2's D-Pad most barable then the rest of them. I think Megadrive has the best D-pad...

As for the controls, the PS2's control works, it works well. Many games utilize the D-Pad for other functions and it's not a far stretch in anycase, I'm not sure what the last part means...how is the way your hands look relevant to your playing experience?
