    Second-Hand Speedhacking

Dunno if their's been any other examples of this on other servers. But recently, I received word that a gilfarmer LS fighting Kirin (who was at 1%) was jailed as a whole for having 1 member speedhacking. From the looks of things, benefiting from a violation of the TOS is now in of itself a violation. Personally, I think it's bout damn time the GMs started kicking the shit out of LS's that cheat to win, weither gilfarmer or not.

If I'm a GM I look for any excuse to jail a room full of gilsellers.

Most of the time it's one player on 3-4 accounts simultaneously anyway.

    Besides...it's Aola...who cares?

Well, they were speedhacking to "help" the whole LS and no one in the LS tried to stop them, so they are all at fault.

Most importantly, who picked up their Kirin?

I think any LS with an RMT in it deserves harsh scrunity and punishment. Not just the RMT-onry LSs, but the dynamis LSs that are RMT/legit-player hybrids, and the RMT HNMLSs that invite legit players for whatever reasons (or vice-versa).

There's no reason for legit players to intermingle with RMT.

I'm guessing the tank was obviously flee hack kiting around. For three hours too, that would be pretty hard to hide and it would also be a rare occation. The only other instance I think they could do this for would be flee-kiting KB, otherwise it wouldn't be something so overt that they would expect the rest of the linkshell to notice.

But...I wish they would use more of their discression on Mr.Argus claims and just pull the linkshell away if they were caught using 3rd party tools weither or not the rest of the members knew. Would make it a lot more fair for the other LSs who decide not to cheat.

LOL how true is that.... and I wish Osode dropped, because that bitch Runis and her RMT cousin Banatutu (who was one of the gilsellers that was involved in this speedhack thing) stole and sold Xsquallx's (my LS's leader and friend) Osode. How fitting would that have been?

This is correct. Absolute Virtue was popped on my server a few weeks ago, and people were using the Goblin Footprint to hold it while they nuked down the wynavs. Myself and two others were jailed.

The GM told me (and the other guy in my LS) that we were jailed from benefitting from a player using third party tools, who subsequently used a known exploit to try and subdue AV. Apparently the third guy they jailed fleetooled AV over to the Footprint, and a crowd gathered while he was holding AV solo at the Footprint with no one else around (or even alive thanks to the inital double Meteors soon after AV popped).

Me and my LS mate were released without any markings on our accounts. The third guy was suspended/banned (dunno which exactly, haven't seen him since that night).

Sounds like S-E are finally waking up. If one person in the LS can potentially cause bans or suspensions (or even just lose trigger sets) for the entire LS, then LSes are going to start to police their own members.

Players, as we all know, are much better at calling matters like this because the GMs have to wait for proof, players can just call it like they see it.

    Good for the GM!

I have spoken to this GM before, on a couple calls I made. He/She takes 3rd party apps very seriously (dunno about windower, but is very strongly against fleetool and POS), and frankly, is the only GM that does. Most shrug you off and say its "lag." Enk will actually do something.

That GM should go camp CoP 2-5 mammets bc, i'm sure people still speed hack that and he'd catch the gs'ers getting lolsea access.

Bet the change in policy was done to combat the tactic of using bots on 'sack' accounts, or by having the junior members of a HNMLS run bots so the senior members/officers can't get banned for it.

That would seem logical since anyone that is halfway intelligent that values their account would use a disposable account to do any dirty work for them (hi2u level 5 war in dragon's aery)
It would do wonders for helping dissolve shady ls's across server since people would not want to risk a banning by association.

You don't have to speed hack that, you can just leave someone in a CS.

This could have very disturbing ramifications. At what point do the GMs decide a "hack" is benefiting a LS? What if (yes yes, I know "omg they can't detect windower") they decide that the TP indicator is a hack, and start jailing entire linkshells/meripos/etc. because 1 person is caught with windower?

Even more importantly, this could elevate LS paranoia and encourage removal from a LS based purely on speculation. Say for instance, someone is lagging and some idiot who doesn't recognize it as lagging but knows someone in the person's shell reports that they saw the individual "flee hacking." The LS leader or sack holder decides to boot the person rather than risk the entire LS being jailed. Meanwhile, the poor guy is on a PS2 wondering wtf he was just booted from his LS.

SE shouldn't hold entire linkshells responsible for a single member's actions. There's no way for all the LS members to know, especially during a Kirin fight, if 1 person is hacking. Just seems irresponsible and draconian on SE's part.

If they start mass banning for TParty and Windower before POS.exe and fleetools, people will just leave the game

I agree with you on that. But they dont really want to loose half of their costumers(since they know their's more PC people than xbox/ps2,i think)

Sad thing is that a decent number of HNMLSs either ask their junior members to bot, have 'sac' accounts from retired members, or have level 5 warriors to claim hack. All of those serve to insulate the people actually calling the shots from actually getting their accounts banned/suspended, while still allowing them to benefit from it.

Odds are they won't start wholesale banning LSs for speed hacking, but they might actually be paying attention to what's been going on in endgame and/or targeting some HNMLSs that are high on their 'suspicious activity' lists.

Another potential ramification is that RMTs on many servers sell rare/ex items. They might have a harder time selling their Byakko's Hiadate if a GM might ban the person buying it.
