I think white people need to realize that black people will not give us the benefit of the doubt when using that word.

It all depends on the context you use it in. Obviously this teacher isn't trying to express racial superiority to his student he's just messing around where he probably doesn't belong.

Agreed, it sounds to me like the kid called him nigga and he just called the kid nigga right back, really pretty silly shit that of course the media jumps all over. Mostly just makes for some good laughs.
