coliseum and The Pit

Anyone else looking forward to these? Im kinda confused somewhat on if they'll ever be completing them and what they'll be like. The coliseum would be like 1 v 1 ballista except you bet things on it and also could probably do against npcs as well.(knowing SE they'll make it into solo and/or party BCNM you can do once a week). Just something similar to the FF6

The pit i have no idea wtf it looks like and what it would actually do overall. Also wtf happened to chocobo circuit wasnt that supposed to be in like 10 patches ago

They're probably giving more people time to finish breeding their own Chocobos out and then will open the circut once enough time has passed to where Chocobo racing can be more enjoyable/challanging.

They issued an apology for delayed content in the New Year message, I think that covered pit/colliseum/racing.

The Colosseum would be a good chance to implement something like L2's Olympiad/Hero system, but I'm sure SE won't make something that interesting.

That's all I was aware of as well, though PvP might be an interesting addition. Regardless, SquareEnix is way behind their development plan that was released at Fanfest.

I certainly hope its more than just pet vs pet. Although that was the way it was presented, maybe I'm just trying to be optimistic for something more than an (un)glorified pokemon stadium minigame.

Yeah, they are way off schedule by now. Seeing as how the valentines event items are already in the dats, there likely wont be a new update until at least early March. They should probably implement circuit/coliseum then (at least, I can't imagine them waiting longer but I should just bite my tongue).

Like Sundi pointed out the Coliseum is the zones name, while the Pit is a smaller part of the Coliseum (according to the zones map text you can see on atlas). The Coliseum itself is disapointingly bland, basically if you've seen whitegate then you've seen the Coliseum. The Pit area at least has a semi interesting cage match look to it. I don't understand the idea behind the Pit or how it can be different than simply playing as a Bst. Unless they decide to just use mobs bst normally can't charm, and allow you to choose specific tp moves to order. But even that sounds pretty yawn inducing.

Well SE has been on the right track with fixing the game. If this thing ends up making people gil, then the game will be fixed.

FF3 and FF6 are TWOOOOOO different games. . . i dont get how people keep calling them the same thing when they finally released the actual FF2 and actual FF3. I mean if we went by your system we would have FF1 > FF2 > FF3 > FF 5 > FF7 >FF8 >FF9> FF10> FFPornLite > FF11 > FF12 though knowing SE missing two ffs would be kinda believable < <

-One of the areas from afar. There are several clustered areas like this so maybe it's instanced. That's basically it for the Coliseum. The rest is just stairs...walls... like aht urghan whitegate and al zahbi.
