I see people shouting for them, but I never actually see the LS they're shouting for anywhere afterwards, so I assume the vast majority of them never pan out.

The secret to getting people to want something (in this case your linkshell) is to tell them they can't have it.

They are usually started by some loser who bought gil/leeched from RMT and was kicked from their own LS for it. Then they shout their LS and get a bunch of nubs to be their bitches and do w/e they want.

One of the shells I have seen on Ifrit is considered a "Mercenary LS". They do stuff like missions, camp NMs and stuff and the more they help their own LS out, the more their LS leader pays them at the end of the month. Yes, their LS Leader pays them gil to help their own LS.

Ifrit has several "shout LSes". Most of them do Sky and buy from RMT, occasionally showing up to some King camp and wiping when they do claim. It's really pathetic to watch.

Half of Whitegate and Al Zhabi's shout spam comes from Skulls recruiters.

I've also been seeing a lot of LS shouts lately, AND today I saw a freaking Eco-War shout. In whitegate! Amazing lol.

I see tons of shouts. They might show up to maybe one HNM and either:

A) Lose the claim
or
B) Claim and do so poorly none of them ever show their faces in endgame again and prefer to call everyone else still in it a bunch of elitist bastards.

There must be 3 im-promptu shell shouts per day (not 3 total, but 3 different shells shouting around). So far every single one sucks so badly that if you check 2 days later, you won't see them anymore.

The ones that shout "no questions asked" about previous LS history are pure win. Until you get 1 decent drop and then the shell breaks cuz the person who obviously earned it didn't get it

Actually... there are a couple of JP shells that shout to recruit, and well they are very successfull tbh, anytime they loose members they shout for more. Not sure if the one you mean is either Toxicity (mostly JPs, few NAs), or if you mean a NA only one that shouted for members.
