PvP

Like 1/1000th of the FFXI population seems to like it and they are all JP, but is there anyone on BG who would call themselves a Ballista or Brenner enthusiast?

I love doing big cap 60s with the JP. The only time where my "hands start shaking" is during those... well, maybe CoP got me a few times. I just wish I knew what the hell my teammates were saying.

I had an excellent idea for PvP that wouldn't stray from the Vana Diel mind set, but I doubt they would do it.

I always wanted to, even if it's just 1v1, just never got around to it.

I used to Ballista hardcore, but I just don't have time for it anymore with my heavy course load this semester, my playtime is limited, and leading an HNMLS kind of takes up most of that. I have some friends that live for it though, like that's all they ever do, ever, and they harass me all night long to come play around with them, haha.

It is pretty active on Sylph, during JP time you usually see 20-30 people playing. I logged on my friend's RDM on Bahumet numerous times to try ballista on another server and it always got cancelled or had less then 10 people, pretty dissapointing. One time I was logged in both servers at the same time, their were 48 people doing Jugner Uncap on sylph and 0 on Bahumet....

Yeah that could be another reason, i'm on Bahamut, and I never really see people talking about it. Though my Chat LS does Brenner alot lately, maybe i'll start doing that. Kinda want a Soboro first.

Trust me, forgot soboro sam/rng and stick to hagun and use /nin. The DMG of gekko is better and the added silence effects makes things a lot easier against mages. Just need to practice the timing for landing a WS on a moving target.

Sylph has 1 regular Soboro SAM/RNG and a couple that pop up every now and then, I always see them dying and I don't think i've ever seen any of them make it to the top 5. Meanwhile their's a SAM/NIN (called Okudai, if you ever wanna make a mule on Sylph to see) who plays frontline the entire match, seldom dies and gets half the GateBreaches for his entire 6 man party consistantly. He's almost always in the top 5 when he comes as SAM, too.

I used to do uncapped ballista on my rdm on bahamut, I believe I still have an expired chevron to turn back in too.

I really really enjoyed it the few times I did it. However, after having countless ones be canceled for lack of people, I kind of gave up trying to catch one. (I'd love to try it on BRD, maybe I should start trying again.)

I go as much as I can, it's kinda depressing being the whole NA in a swarm of JP though. I can never pursuade anyone to go, they say its no fun ; ;. On all my jobs, thf war and brd uncap is fun as hell, I die so much on war though lol, seems like everyone goes for the wars, easy GB ><;

I do quite alot of ballista when I can, hell im even in a ballista LS called DirgeofBallista. Fenrir has quite alot of enthusiast and it almost always has matches going on, and alot of private ones.

There are already people signing up on our forums to join our server because of Fenrir's ballista activity lol.

Aye I'm on Fenrir also, and I used to Ballista quite a lot. During the peak JP hours, and if it was 60 or uncap, you could usually get about 25vs25. However that was quite some time ago, I'm not sure how it is nowadays.

Pandemonium ballista seems to be fairly popular, I know a few in my LS who always go to the uncaps, though I don't play it myself. A few in my LS were even in Ballista Royale, but only placed 3rd I believe due to some drama and a team member leaving. But as a whole, JPs and NAs both seem to hit the uncaps a lot.

Fairy PvP is usually dead during the week aside from the 60 caps. On the weekend a few matches won't get cancelled though.

I used to ballista all the time, when Brenner came out I thought it was great and did it every time there was an official match, once ToAU came out though it pretty much died out as well.

Diorama-Ghelsba is still fairly active though.

Just a question, but why is 60 cap popular? The OP mentioned those are the ones he does, too.

I know of several people, JP and NA, on my server who are excited about uncaps, but not the 60 caps. Why would people on your server rather keep a set of 60 cap gear than just go to uncaps?

I wish more people came... if only SE like tripled the exp reward and took a page from WoW and make CONFLICT Points where you buy gear and shit.

Being a BLM in Ballista tough lol... I don't think I'll ever get a Gold Chevron, but I'ma try anyway. Too bad my next job is PUP lol.

Anyway, it kind of sucks... everyone who I'd call an PvP lover on this server only really cares about 1v1. I don't know about anyone else, but 1v1 pretty much sucks in FFXI, it's not made that way.

I wish JPs liked Brenner as much they like Ballista ;/.

If anyone has played Jedi Outcast II Online, the way they PvP in that, would be perfect in FFXI.

Just needs some tweaking, like, if you get aggro the pvp is cancelled. Also, if you get to 1HP, it's over. So it's more like sparring, not so much "killing".

Honestly I have no idea, I prefer uncapped myself, but 60 caps almost always go off. Like I said I don't ballista much anymore so I derno. Maybe the battle royale being 60 cap had something to do with it.
