Chocobo Digging Powerleveling

I still occasionally work on getting my digging up to A10 (stuck at A25 atm.) The nerf really slowed me down. Is it possible to level up while your choco is fatigued? I tried to look up this answer but could not find anything that specifically addresses lvling up after your choco is fatigued.

I guess it depends on how you believe leveling works (there having been no official word on how it does...).

1) lol test item. Wiki lists this one, but it's bunk/crap/been disproven countless times. However, if this is how it works, then no -- since you can't dig up any items after you get your 100 items, then you can't dig up the lol test item.

2) Leveling up after X number of digs. Personally, I call BS on this one. If it were something simple like leveling after X digs people would likely know it for sure by now. Some people keep and post very detailed info about their digging. However, if this were true, then you could level up if you kept digging after your 100 items.

3) Digging is like crafting: Every time you make a dig attempt, you have a chance of getting a skillup. This is the one I believe, since fishing and crafting are like this as well. If this were the true way, then the answer to your question would be: Maybe? It'd be very sloppy code to keep getting chances to skill after you get your 100 items for the day, but hey, this is SE.

In my personal opinion, I wouldn't bother digging after you get your 100 items. I could be wrong though, who knows.
