Blockaid / Game Mechanics Question

Actually 3 of them.

First. With blockaid up can you cure someone outside of your alliance?

Second. Does that then put that person on the hate list of the monster your fighting?

Third. Would that person then be able to cure you back or potentially steal your target even though you have blockaid up?

This is probably easily testable and if I don't get any solid data I plan to do that once I get out of work, but I don't get out of work for like 6 more hours and I'm really curious.

However, to add a little more:

With blockaid up, you could steal someone else's HNM, for example, by curing them then doing something that gets a lot of hate on their spiky tail.

While they wouldn't be able to cure you to take it back, they wouldn't need to since they're already on the hate list even after you steal it.

Therefore, if you are going to steal an HNM, make sure they all wipe completely so they are clear of the hate list.

Bascially, I wanted to be able to get people on the hate list of "said spikey tailed monster" so that there crowding asses got lit up with Breath and Hurricane wing.

And force them to step back.

Without them being able to steal it from cure bombing us.

Oh well it was just a thought.

it's stealing if you force the flail that causes them to wipe completely and then take it but thats splitting hairs.

The point is that SE needs to reinstitute faf's TP moves hitting the whole pit. People will still crowd you but at least they tend to eat up most of the wings. We used to have people do that on fafs and our whole alliance wouldn't get hit because it just glitched out lol. "thx doods, making it that much easier!"

You only get hate on a mob if you attack,ja,ws/cast on a mob or do one of those to someone who has hate on the mob.

If you run into an aggro monster, for example lets say a goblin and it starts beating on you, you technically have 0 hate. If someone else were to provoke it, or sleep it and die or zone, the monster won't come back for you. Same goes for linked monsters.

If you pull 1 monster with a ja and 2 more come with it, only the monster you pulled actually has hate built up, the rest are just... aggro via association and as soon as someone else takes action on it, they wont remember you at all.

This is a beginner question, not exactly an Advanced one. I would like to see a better solution to crowding... like more config options to reduce bandwidth/processor cycles used in high traffic areas. Would help for beseiged as well.

Example: an option that would only show models, logs, and actions from party / alliance and foes. This would affect the server's data stream to the client... not only a client filter.

edit: well... I guess this suggestion would be asking too much. It would be time-consuming to test and implement.

You make it sound like we aren't all dealing with super lag in the Aery and/or various shells that like to crowd. And that our shell isn't wondering why random people in your shell are getting hit by Wings or throwing random cures at us on a pull once in a while. Or that you get a pull more often than once every three months.

Sorry, most of our people work and can only camp late night EST camps. We do plenty of other things like sea/sky/salvage/limbus/ouryu/bahamut.

We get pretty lucky on kings too though from time to time.
